    Hi Render,

You will need to ensure that your EA supports 5-digit brokers. If not, you will need to ask them to update the EA for you.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Render,

Great to hear that you’ve resolved the issue and got things working. Re: the Russian – apologies for this. We figure that some of the translations are a bit rough around the edges but hopefully good enough to allow people to use the software.

If you have time to review the Russian translation then please send us a PM an we can provide you with the details.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Render,

Regarding the MT432 that you downloaded, could you please ensure you have run it at least once before attempting to select it in Tickstory. Tickstory attempts to identify valid installations by checking for the existence of important files that are created by MT4.

Please let us know how you go and we can help you upgrade to 451 after that.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marj,

Have you referred to this post to see if it addresses your issue:

    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=65&hilit=TickstoryInfoExpert

Most common issues are Windows 7 Virtualisation along with brackets or special characters in the filename.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Slimshady,

Thanks for the suggestions – these two items have been added to the enhancement list however they have no schedule date currently.

    Regards.

    Hi Darren,

If you wish to create an export with your own broker’s settings then, yes, you will need to do this prior to the export. This allows you to load in these settings in the ‘MT4 Export’ screen so they are applied in the exported data.

The general procedure doing this is:

    1) Follow the instructions for generating your .mt4info settings file for your broker. Once you have done this, you don’t need to do this step again unless your broker has changed some fundamental settings (such as minimum lot size).
    2) Select ‘MT4 export’ and load your new settings file. You can save these settings as default so you don’t need to load them again before each export.
    3) Start your export. When it is complete, the exported file will contain all your broker’s information.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi isaacp,

We tried to reproduce your issue with Tickstory v0.9 and MT4 Build 432 and were not able to.
    Steps taken were:

    – Export GBPUSD from 2007.03.30 to 2013.06.11 (all other settings were default). Wait for export to complete.
    – Go to MT4 History Center and double-click on GBPUSD->Daily Timeframe. All data appears correctly from 2007.
    – Select ‘Import’ and select the GBPUSD1440.hst file in the history folder. The first few lines of data from 2013 are shown and appears correctly.

Please ensure that your terminal is not connected to a broker as this has potential to overwrite your exported data.

    Thanks.

    Hi Darren,

You can delete the FXT files, assuming that you don’t intend to use the specific symbol & time-frame that the FXT file is for. If, for example, you are not back-testing in the 60-minute time-frame for EURUSD, you can delete EURUSD60_0.fxt.
Of course, if you wish to test with the 60-minute time-frame at a later date, you will need to regenerate this FXT file by exporting the 60-minute time-frame again.

    Hope this helps.

Great news, Bismillahwd! I suspect that the terminal 482 that is not working is still connecting to your broker. If you are that keen, you can try disconnecting your internet to see if that fixes it.
Otherwise, good to hear that it’s now working for you.

    Hi Tradexfol,

Can you please confirm you are using the MT4 Build 432 as provided in the link above? The terminal will not connect to a broker (as expected), however you should be able to perform a back-test correctly.

    Thanks.

    Hi bismillahwd,

The fact that you are getting an “n/a” in your back-test result is an indication that MT4 is not correctly using your exported data. Could you please download and use the following MT4 version to narrow down the possible issues:

    Thanks.
