Hi Marj,

With regard to commissions, Tickstory allows you to specify the “raw” values that are embedded into the Metatrader FXT which are as follows:

Comm type: The base commission type – either Money (set to 0), pips (1) or percent (2).
Base comm: The commission value – this is the amount of Money (if Comm type is 0) or Pips (if Comm type is 1).
Comm lots: The commission charge type – can be Commission per Lot (0) or Commission per deal (1).

So to specify a $25 lot, you would need to set the values:

Comm type = 0
Base comm = 25
Comm lots = 0

Thanks for raising the issue with the HST files not being generated correctly – we will look into this.

Regarding the dialog box saving settings, yes, this is an item that should be available next version. Do note though that you are able to export all 17 pairs in one go. Just highlight them and click on ‘Export to MT4’ and off you go. The settings for each individual pair can also be custom-set in the ‘Metatrader Info’ tab if you desire.

Thanks for your problem report. It looks as if the folder selection button is not working.
As for the error you are getting, this looks like its is being caused by insufficient rights to the config file. Can you please ensure the file is not read-only and that Windows is not restricting you from writing this file due to permissions?

Hi Render,

A single FXT can be a maximum of 2gb and you can only use a single FXT at a time on MT4. You can therefore workaround the limitation in various ways such as moving around the HST & FXT files as required to a single MT4 installation, or having multiple MT4 installations that have a specific date range of data.

You are right – the TP and SL are listed as 4-digit due to the MT4 platform. Attached is a ‘symbols.raw’ file that should change all the symbols to 5-digit. Backup any existing file and place the attached file in the C:Program FilesMetaTrader 432historyAlpariUK-Demo-Pro directory.

You can change languages via the ‘Regional Settings’ in the Windows Control Panel.

Please note that the summertime dates are taken directly from the Windows operating system, so ensure that your operating system has the latest updates to ensure time zones have the correct information.

Hi Render,

From what I understood from your last post was that you were still getting the ‘no data for testing’ message, however it appears you have gotten further than that.

The issue you are most likely having is with a limitation with MT4 which supports a maximum of 2GB file sizes. This means that you can’t currently back-test a large period of data. Please see this post for more details and how you can work around the issue:

I have tested the standard ‘MACD Sample’ EA under the same Build 432 available for download and I can confirm that I can see 5-digits.

Are you able to try the same EA and see if it reports 5-digits when testing with EURUSD (of course, make sure that your export EURUSD data with 5-digits)?
