Hi Ralf,
We’ve looked into this further and the reason why these bars exist is due to the system creating flat bars for periods where there is no data. The tick data on the other hand is filtered for those periods.
Could you please advise in what way the two different methods (visual and non-visual) are affecting your back-tests?Thanks.
in reply to: 0.9.1.0 cant run mt4 build 509? #18988Hi Tomi,
Does a Chrome or IE browser pop-up when you hit the ‘Like’ button? Can you please confirm you check the ‘Keep me logged in’ button?
Thanks.

Hi admin, i want to ask about data range, until now, i can download data for XAUUSD from ducas from 2005, so tickstory can download and do the backtest form wich years ???, thank.
Hi thuythuyyen – if the data is available, then Tickstory is able to download and export the information.
If there are updated date ranges, then please let us know what they are on this thread and we will summarise the changes..Thanks.
in reply to: a fix spread for each hour #19122Hi Gooly,
What is happening is a two-step process – in the first step, all the spread information is written to the data file. In the second step, the launcher facilitates the use of this information without it getting overwritten by MT4. In the case of the variable spread feature of Birt’s TDS, this effectively changes the behaviour of MT4 so uses the volume data as the spread.
Hope this explains.
in reply to: a fix spread for each hour #19120Hi Gooly,
Thanks for the suggestion. What you describe is technically a variable spread since MT4 only allows you to set the spread once in the exported data. If you are proposing any spread that varies, it will need to be embedded in the volume in the same way that the real-spread works. Outside of this limitation, the idea is still useful as a potential feature when exporting MT4 data with variable spreads.
Thanks.
Hi bismillahwd,
Yes, you appear to be correct – the data appears to be extended for some pairs. Here’s a topic that discusses the previously available date ranges:
As further information comes to hand, hopefully users can update the information in the topic above. Of course, the newly available data is available via Tickstory by simply specifying the new date ranges.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
in reply to: MT4 not launching from Start menu or via TS #19114Hi Blott,
Have you checked your Journal tab to see what error if being generated? Have you ensured you have launched your Metatrader via the Tickstory ‘Launch’ feature?
Thanks.
in reply to: Error, first launch #19123Hi stalker,
Most likely cause of this is an invalid/unavailable .NET v3.5 installation. Please check that you have .NET v3.5 installed and try again.
This post might also be of help:Regards.
in reply to: TickInfoExpert #18518Hi Varso,
Can you please confirm whether you have tried to specify your own config file name in the EA parameters?
Thanks.

in reply to: admin password?? #19073Hi Gooly,
As you pointed out, Tickstory does not do anything that requires admin rights. This seems to be a Windows request that the application requires admin for some reason.
We will put an item to address this in a future version.Regards.
in reply to: MT4 not launching from Start menu or via TS #19112Hi Blott,
If nothing is happening, just check your Journal/log tab to see if any error is being reported. As for deleting the history, you can just re-export the symbol and it will overwrite the existing data.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: MT4 not launching from Start menu or via TS #19110Hi Blott,
Tickstory does not affect/modify your MT4 installation so I would be trying in the first instance to reboot to try resolve your issue (check also for the existence of terminal.exe in your task-list). If this does not work, I would suggest reinstalling MT4.
Hope this helps.
