in reply to: Remote server returned an error #21094
Hi Degrath,
If Dukascopy have not yet uploaded the data for the most recent day (or trading is not complete for that hour) then you will get this message. It should now be available. In the event you do get this error, Tickstory will continue on exporting the available data. The only time to be concerned is if this error occurs for “non recent” days (i.e. > 2 days from today). This can occur if your internet connection has dropped or is overloaded, etc. In this case, you should re-export the data to make sure you are not missing any data.
Regarding your data folder, ensure your Tickstory “MT4 Data Folder” matches that shown when you select File->Open Data Folder in MT4. Tickstory will usually detect the data folder automatically when you select your MT4 Installation Folder, however if you are explicitly working in “portable” mode, then the data folder should point to the installation folder.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Historical Data Center Forum now available! #20904Hi Mastertrader,
You can upload the data an archive in zip or rar format that contains the data for the group of symbols. This would then be posted in the appropriate section on the forum. We have also created a “Global” section for symbols such as FOREX which have no specific region.
Thanks for your contribution.
in reply to: error when i load tickstory #21000Hi Traderkk,
We’re still waiting for you on this one. Unfortunately the screenshot you sent seems to be from the incorrect version. We’ve PMd you the details.
Please let us know if you need further info!
Thanks.
in reply to: Symbol Setting Error #21081Hi – When exporting to MT4, there is a separate tab on the export screen called “MT4 Settings”. This feature is explained in more detail under ‘Customising MT4 Export Settings’ in the manual:
http://tickstory.com/help/tickstorylite/customising_mt4_export_setting.htm
Regards.
in reply to: Optimise EA #21093Hi Buillnbearthailand,
To use the optimisation feature yes, you need to launch via Tickstory if you wish to back-test with tick-accurate information (if you are using open prices modelling then you do not).
Detailed information on the MT4 optimisation feature can be found in the Metatrader manual or by visiting the MT4 forums.Hope this helps.
in reply to: Symbol Setting Error #21079Hi Worker,
Have you tried specifying the Tick value and Tick size in the “MT4 Settings” tab just before exporting DEUIDXEU?
Regards.
in reply to: Symbol properties – What is it for? #21004Hi,
The list of symbols is provided so you can specify the settings (eg. spread) of each symbol prior to export. This is of particular use when you have selected multiple symbols for export in the main screen. If you have selected say AUDCAD & EURUSD for export, you can select each from the drop-down and tailor their specific information. You can subsequently save the settings as default if you like so the next time you export it will use the same settings.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: v1.7 Released! #21032Hi Bestru,
Please apply the license key you were provided by selecting Help->License from the menu. Make sure you have also specified your MT4 Installation folder in File->Settings->MT4 Settings. Once you have done this, please try launching again.
Thanks.
in reply to: v1.7 Released! #21031Hi Sunnybeach,
If you’re embedding spread then it should not matter what spread setting you have on the Strategy Tester. Just to reiterate from above, you need to have Birt’s TDS installed to utilise this feature.
Regards.
in reply to: newbie to tickstory #20376Hi Davidoh,
Perhaps you can detail some of your requirements in the “Suggestions” section. Details such as what platform you are using and any other useful information is always helpful. The more feedback we get from users, the more we can try accommodate everyone’s requirements in the final version (and yes, we do try listen to all the feedback we get.. we just need the time to get it all done!)
Regards.
in reply to: Inconsistent results #21075Hi Artisticmagic,
This is possible if you have your spread in the Strategy Tester set to “current”. This means the spread used during the back-test will be the current spread of your broker which could change between back-tests. To resolve this issue, simple set an explicit number for your spread and your results should remain consistent.
You can refer to this topic for a little more background on this topic:

in reply to: Historical Data Center Forum now available! #20902Hi Pipperoni – that’s a great start – thanks for your contribution.
We are working on an import feature but for the time-being, you are welcome to share the information as-is.
Kind regards.
in reply to: v1.7 Released! #21028Hi Pipperoni,
Thanks for the feedback. The only change that could be affecting your results is if your EA is sensitive to volume information? If you try to re-select the “Suppress Volume”, does this fix the problem?
Thanks.
in reply to: error when i load tickstory #20998Hi Traderkk,
Thanks for your patience. We have just PM’d you with some further details so we can investigate the problem further and hopefully resolve it for you.
Appreciate if you can get back to us with the results.
Thanks.
in reply to: newbie to tickstory #20374Hi Davidoh,
That’s correct – tick-by-tick data in real-time is something that we are working on although we currently don’t have a time-frame for a release. You can however keep track of the latest happenings by subscribing to us on Facebook or Twitter.
Hope this helps.
