in reply to: Optimisation runs #19274Hi Ekke,
Does a normal back-test give you any results?
Thanks.
Hi,
As of version 1.0, you don’t need to have pressed ‘Like’/have the gold start to launch Build 500+.
Make sure your FXT files are read-only and that you haven’t got larger than 2gb FXT files (check here for reports that the new limit is now 4gb: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=202).Hope this helps.
in reply to: backtest stops immediatly upon starting #19286Hi Hallfonce,
Please check your MT4 export settings or just try the “factory default” config files to narrow down the problem. Also worthwhile to create an EA that sends an order unconditionally to see if it appears or whether you are getting some errors due to incorrect lot steps, etc.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: there is wrong with the month? #19281Hi Raidsan – yes, this is correct. The month is zero-based.

in reply to: 0.9.1.0 cant run mt4 build 509? #19005Harri – the latest version v1.0 makes the launcher available to all users.
As per the software license agreement, you are not permitted to decompile the software.Thanks.

Regarding the timezone there is a misunderstanding:
Ofcourse you should not keep a list of all brokers within TS.
You should only memorize the previous user-inputs.When exporting data to MT I have to give a path for the MT4-installation (=Broker).
Correct me if I am wrong, but then the timezone is related to that.
So my idea is, to add a field (lets say “Broker-timezone”) to the MT4-settings, and to
use this timezone as a default when exporting data..Thanks for clarifying and your suggestion. We will look into adding these features to a future release.

And regarding the dropdown-list …. let’s make it the other way round and let me ask,
what users with more than one broker have to do right now:
When exporting to the second broker, then select a new path for installation and server (and timezone)?
And when exporting to the first broker, reselect the previously already given path again?
Is it this way?Correct – if you have more than one broker, currently you will need to select the path for each broker before doing the export.

in reply to: backtests cut off short #19282Hi Jeff,
Thanks for getting back to us. As of v1.0, the launcher is enabled for all users so you don’t explicitly need to have clicked ‘Like’ (although it’s a nice gesture ;).
Check this post out for some discussion on the 4gb support in MT4:

Please bear with us while we try to replicate the issue. We’ll update this thread when we know more.
Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed information. From your back-test results showing a modelling quality of 99.9%, it appears that you are correctly using the Tickstory exported data.
Unfortunately we don’t provide support for specific EAs as it’s obviously difficult to trouble-shoot the many reasons why a EA might not work. I would as a starting point try the standard MACD EAs that come with MT4. Other things that might be causing the issue are excessive spread, incorrect lot-sizes settings and so forth.Hope thish elps.
in reply to: Optimisation runs #19272Hi Ekke,
Are you saying that the previous version of Tickstory (0.9.2) was working fine for you? There have been no recent changes that should affect MT4 back-testing – are you sure you haven’t upgraded or something else has changed?. If the previous version of Tickstory was working, can you try rolling-back and seeing if that fixes it?
Thanks.
in reply to: Updating Tickdata #19255Hi Ralf,
Answers below..
I downloaded from Dukascopy the data from January till June, exported to MT4 … fine.
Now I want to extend the data including July.At the moment you need to regenerate your entire export again. A future version is planned which will allow you to extend the existing MT4 export.
And in conjunction to that, some minor questions/proposals regarding exporting to MT4:
Is there a way to enter a default-timezone?
Isn’t the timezone related to the broker? So why not adding the default-timezone to the broker-settings?
And for those who have several brokers, a drop-down-box would be fineI imagine all users should know what time-zone their broker is in and can select it from the drop-down list. If we maintain our own list we will need to keep it updated with any changes that the broker may make.
I am using several symbols – all with the same test-period. When downloading I have to enter
each time “from” and “to”. Why not leave this dates to the last input?
Those who have different dates, have to change it anyway. But those who have the same date would appreciate it.Saving common settings is on the ‘todo’ list.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Thank you tickstory! #19131Hi Shawky – thanks for your feedback. We plan to do more with Amibroker in future versions, so stay tuned!

in reply to: BACK TESTING HELP #19271Hi ysame12,
Thanks for letting us know. Wasn’t aware that this should cause such a problem.
Kind regards.
Good to hear that solved it, K00tje. We will apply a change on our side to ensure that you can have whatever settings you like in the future. The software should really not be dependent on your personal preferences.
Thanks for for taking the time to assist us resolve it.
Kind regards.
