    Hi all,

The ‘permission denied’ error is expected to be addressed in the next version 1.1 of Tickstory. Please note that the issue is due to Windows 7 UAC account controls so we will need to relocate the location of the config file.

We will also try and address the prompting issue in this version, Gooly, however we will need your assistance to see if it works for you given that we have been unable to reproduce the issue.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mrbizu,

We have managed to reproduce your issue and are investigating further.

    Thanks.

    Hi MrBizu,

Could you please confirm that you are getting the flat-bars when using the UTC time-zone? We tried these settings and could not reproduce your issue. If you are using a specific time-zone, could you please let us know what is was (i.e. UTC +3 in which location?) Also, how are you viewing the chart – is it an offline chart of the chart that appears after a visual or non-visual back-test?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ralf,

The FXT files may be write-protected, however the HST files are not which could mean that you are getting clashing information from your broker.
As per recommendations, please keep the terminal offline to avoid any of these types of issues.

    Thanks.

Hi tickster – thanks for your feedback and apologies for the delay in reply.

You are correct, at the moment ‘Volume’ is currently represented by the contract-sizes. We can definitely add the functionality to export the number of ticks and have added this item to our enhancement list.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Konkaran,

I would be checking to see if you do in-fact have permissions to write to the file. Perhaps try running the application as administrator to see if that solves the issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ninjaturtle,

That’s right. You’d need to choose the matching time-frame for your calendar.

    Hi kimmik,

Is there anything specific you are doing before you close Tickstory (such as exporting to MT4 or exporting to file)? What happens if you start Tickstory, then shut it down immediately without performing any other actions?

Can I also clarify – you are saying that even trying to kill the process from Task Manager doesn’t work?

    Regards

in reply to: Optimisation runs #19276

    Hi ekke,

We’ve tried several optimisation runs with a standard EA and can’t reproduce the issue you are having. Do you still see this problem with the standard EAs? Can you please also check that no changes were made to your EA between upgrading these builds?

We would love to know if anyone else is experiencing the same issue so that we can try to establish a pattern for this issue.

    Regards

    Hi Ralf,

We have had no luck with replicating the discrepancy between Visual and Non-Visual mode with the same settings you are using.

Can you just confirm that you are not connected to a broker when you are running these backtests?

    Thanks.

    Hi Rodrigo,

Make sure you have launched your MT4 at least once before trying to select the folder. Tickstory looks for specific files to be present before it recognises the MT4 directory as being valid.

Check this post for further information to see if it assists:

    Thanks.

    Hi Rodrigo,

To help us investigate, can you please tell us the following details:
    1) Which build of MetaTrader 4 are you using?
    2) What is the full path of the MetaTrader 4 installation folder?
    3) Do you see any error messages that could help us investigate?

    Thanks

    Hi Rodrigo,

Have you referred to this thread:

    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=65

It could be that the auto-generated filename is invalid. You can specify a custom filename in the EA parameters to see if this solves your issue.

    Regards.
