Thanks, Threshold. At this stage we’re thinking the best way to add this feature is to allow a filter of “x % from current price” or something similar. That is, if the price deviates more than this percentage from the previous tick or bar, that data would be eliminated.
Any further thoughts are welcome.
Hi all,
Thank you for your feedback. The final version of v1.3 is now available. Please see here for details: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=400
Regards.
Hi Lam,
Could you please explain further what your issue is?
Thanks.
in reply to: Large data jumps #19806Hi Threshold – the data filtering capabilities are still under development. Essentially it will work by allowing users to filter data such as duplicate ticks and also “anomalous” data. If you have some specific ways in which you wish to filter you data, please feel free to add them in the ‘suggestions’ area so we can consider how to implement them.
With regards to Excel – yes, this is an issue with the row limitation and we’re not sure of the best way to manage large files which is why we believe these sorts of features would be useful for Tickstory.
Regards.
in reply to: Large data jumps #19804Hi Threshold – unfortunately there is no feature to allow you to edit the original Dukascopy data.
The only options we can think of in the short term is to select an historical date range and generate the HST/FXT files for this, edit them and then use them to test the selected date range. Alternatively, you can generate a CSV file, edit that and use this to generate the HST/FXT files using third-party tools such as Birt’s CSV2FXT.Hope this helps.
in reply to: TickInfoExpert #18530Hi Fx346,
Select ‘Export to MT4’ and on the ‘Help’ tab of the dialog you can ‘Deploy MQ4’ to your Experts directory and the EA will appear. Alternatively, the EA resides in the main Tickstory installation folder where you can manually copy it to the location you desire. (NOTE: If you are currently using v1.3RC2, you will need to use the manual method as there is an issue with the deploy function which will be fixed in the next version).
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Large data jumps #19802Hi Threshold,
Yes, the anomalies appear to be in the original Dukascopy data. Unfortunately we can’t comment on why they are there, except to say that later versions of Tickstory will help you filter them out automatically.
Perhaps other users have further comments about this.
Regards.
in reply to: V 1.3RC2 Broker Settings/Deploy MQ4 Bug #19781Hi OG – Yes, the fix has been done however we have not released it yet. It will be done in the next few days – you will need to manually update when you get the “v1.3 upgrade” notification.
Regards.
in reply to: Suggestion: Allow multiple terminal instances #19755Hi Saxon,
Thanks for your suggestion. This feature has been requested before, however we are not planning to support this in the short term as it requires some work to constantly update the launcher for each successive MT4 version. We are looking towards creating an open-source version of the launcher which could help alleviate this overhead. For the moment, however, Birt’s TDS (http://cd710nh5qn5ax84ol4ncpnfp99.hop.clickbank.net/ Disclosure: Affiliate link) is the only option for allowing multiple instances.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: variable spread in backtesting…. #19635Hi MUIFX,
We have had variable spread on our list of things-to-do, however it hasn’t taken a priority at this stage over the many other enhancements we have planned. If you wish to have this feature, it is possible to use Birt’s TDS (http://cd710nh5qn5ax84ol4ncpnfp99.hop.clickbank.net/ Disclosure: Affiliate link). We will plan to support at least the export of variable spread data, however you will still need a suitable launcher such as TDS before this data can be used.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Problem when exporting data to MT4 #19727Hi Jim,
From the screenshot you sent separately, you are still getting the error message “Access to path denied” message. Again, this is because Windows 7 does not allow applications to store data in the “Program Files” folder. To get around this issue, you will need to re-install MT4 outside of the Program Files directory such as in “C:ProgramsMT4”.
If you are running the latest MT4 Build 545 and above, you can also download the latest beta version of Tickstory (see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=376). These later versions of MT4 allow you to install the application in the Program Files directory, however the historical data is written outside of this directory which means you will not have the problem you are seeing. We recommend you try this option if your MT4 Build 545 and above.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Metatrader 5? #19797Hi Trader23484 – No it does not.

in reply to: Tick Data from other sources? #19771Hi OGfx,
At the moment Tickstory does not support CSV conversions, however this is planned for the next major update.
Regards.
in reply to: Bars Less Than 100 #19784Hi OGfx,
If you don’t have enough bars, all you should need to do is export a larger sample of data.
Hope this helps.
TickTester – are you getting an error saying that Tickstory could not launch MT4? If so, does it mention it tried the launcher for Build 545+? If so, can you please try F8 again to see if there’s some sort of timing issue?
Rapple – thanks for mentioning the issue. This issue has been addressed and will be available in the next update.
Threshold – from your error message screenshot it appears that you have not downloaded the latest version of Tickstory (v1.3RC2 – the link is on the first page of this thread). If you have the latest version, the launcher error message will mention it tried to launch Build 545+ if there was any problem.
Regards.
