in reply to: v1.4 Released! #19896
Hi Radu,
The Filter Duplicate tick” option is off by default as it could affect some scalping strategies. As such, we decided it’s best for this option to be intentionally selected by the user if they know their EA does not need this extra data.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Remote Support (Please) #19846Hi Trader2384,
Not sure why it is taking so long. It sounds like something is lagging on your PC. Maybe try a smaller export and see if that speeds things up. This would at least indicate whether the delay is related to the size of your data sample.
Hope this helps.

in reply to: Downloaded symbols not shown when backtesting #19887Hi DudaoRJ,
The symbols that are listed in the back-tester are determined by a MT4 file called “symbols.sel”. Usually this file is downloaded from your broker, however since you are disconnected it could be resulting in you having a stale list of symbols.
To resolve this, try placing the attached symbols.sel fil in the MT4 “history/
directory (Exit the MT4 application before doing this and backup the existing symbols.sel first). When you restart, it should have all the major pairs available. Hope this helps.
in reply to: Download Issue #19895Hi Dinos1984,
Just re-download the data for your desired date range – Tickstory will automatically detect which data is missing and only download this data again from the web.
Regards.

in reply to: will MT4 merge old broker data into Duka data? #19819Hi Jivetrader,
Sorry for the delayed reply. When you export from Tickstory it completely re-creates the MT4 historical data files.

in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19882Hi Tickroll,
The suggestions above are a admittedly a little advanced, so you will need to know more of the finer details to tweak things. Outside of this, there is no simple way we know to generate the ‘Open price’ FXT file with the tools currently available. We’ll make a note of your suggestion though!
Thanks.
in reply to: D1/H4 mismatch #19857Hi Tickroll,
What issue are you referring to? The fix applies specifically to the issue that Trader2384 has raised with regard to the H4/Daily bars being out-of-sync in some cases.
Thanks.
in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19880Hi Tickroll,
If I understood correctly, you have already exported your custom broker settings (see section in the Help file for “Customising MT4 Export settings” if you need to know more). Once you have done so, the FXT file will contain all the settings from your broker.
If you wish to only export the bar data (i.e. HST files), then you are reliant on MT4 to produce the FXT file for you. In this case, it will be necessary to either 1) Ensure your MT4 terminal is connected to your broker so it can get the right settings (Lot size, etc), or 2) Edit the FXT file once it has been generated by using the ‘MT4 FXT Editor’. You will then need to subsequently launch MT4 via Tickstory by using the Tickstory launcher (press F8 in Tickstory).
Hope this helps explain things!
in reply to: Remote Support (Please) #19844Hi Trader2384,
Not sure what you mean by “hangs” and in fact what you are trying to do at the time it is hanging. Note that Tickstory doesn’t do anything with template files so it sounds like something that is MT4 specific.
Regards.
in reply to: Commission Settings – Instaforex Eurica (cent) #19533Hi Dr. Golf – That looks correct.
in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19878Hi Tickroll,
If your intention is to test your EA with 1-minute data rather than tick data, then you can opt not to generate the FXT file at all by deselecting all the ‘FXT Timeframes’ in the Export menu. In this case, MT4 will still generate the FXT file (with all the terminal defaults) but it will not contain the detailed tick information which should make your back-tests a bit faster.
Hope this helps.
