    Hi Bellduke,

MT4 has a limitation on the maximum size their database (FXT) file can be. Please refer to this thread for further info and workarounds:

    Hi Adeller and 4EverMaat,

Thanks for raising this with us. We’ expect to have these new instruments added in the next release. This should include all the indicies & commodoties available in Dukascopy, however as far as we’re aware USDCHN is not available.

    Regards.

Hi Tcferreira, The feature is under development. There is no release available to the public yet. Keep tuned in via Facebook and we’ll let you know more news as it comes to hand.

    Thanks!

    Hi Yeswinner,

What build of MT4 are you using? Note that it is recommended that you upgrade your O/S if you want to use Tickstory. That said, we have no known issues using the launcher under XP.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mickaswah,

The bi5 files you see are merely the “raw” tick data files that Tickstory downloads from the web. You will need to use the “Export to file” option within Tickstory to produce a CSV file. You can consult the Help manual (press F1) to find out more about this process.

    Regards.

    Hi Soltek,

A greyed out icon means the Expert Advisor does not have the accompanying source code. You should still be able to run it. If not, you will need to give some details of the error you are getting.

    Thanks.

    Hi Gpipsforever,

Could you kindly elaborate on “MT4 not starting”? Are you getting an error of some sort?

Also, could you kindly try executing the following command to see if it is MT4 that is reverting your data folder back to the C: drive:

    terminal.exe /portable

You can check what the current data folder is in MT4 by going to the File->Open Data Folder option.

    Thanks.

    Hi Rodrigo,

You only need to export the FXT timeframe for the time-frame you wish to test in.

Hi – I believe this is a duplicate of a question that has been responded to here:

    Hi FXNegus,

First thing to check would be to ensure that you are getting 99.9% quality on your back-test report. If not, the two main issues are likely to be 1) you haven’t launched via Tickstory or it hasn’t launched correctly or 2) that the exported files have been put in the incorrect directory. To check for the latter, in MT4 go to File->Open Data folder and ensure that the folder opened matches with your Tickstory settings.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Rodrigo,

To map XAUUSD to GOLD, you need to use the ‘Maps To’ field in the MT4 Export screen on the ‘Metatrader Info’ tab.
    Step-by-step:

    – Select the XAUUSD symbol in Tickstory and then selecting File->Export to MT4
    – In the ‘Metatrader Info’ tab for the symbol XAUUSD, enter ‘GOLD’ in the Maps To field.
    – When complete, you should be able to test in MT4 under the symbol ‘GOLD’ which will actually contain the data for XAUUSD.

This feature is also described in the user manual.

    Regards.

    Hi Soltek,

Could you kindly provide further information about the error you are getting. We have tested the TickstoryInfoExpert.ex4 on Build 625 and it has been working.

    Thanks.

Thanks for getting back, RL2013 – does that mean it was the ‘volume’ field that was causing the problem for you?

    Hi RL2013,

Could you please try the following format which basically omits the Volume (i.e. sets it to 1 for all rows):

    {BarBeginTime:yyyyMMdd} {BarBeginTime:HHmmss};{Open};{High};{Low};{Close};1

It seems that fractional volumes could be causing the issue, although not sure why your error seems to suggest that the date/time is incorrect. Just make sure you are not including column headers.

    Thanks.
