in reply to: System requirements #20109
Hi Vandal,
It is a standalone application. Pre-requisites are a Windows 7+ O/S with .NET v3.5 installed.
Hope this helps.
(P.S. This post will be moved to it’s own thread since it doesnt relate to the original topic).
in reply to: Problem with FXT file #20107Hi Sam,
From the looks of your screenshot, it appears that your FXT files are too large for MT4 to handle. The maximum size they can be is 4gb.
Please see this post for further info and workarounds:
Regards.
in reply to: v1.5 Released! #20013Hi Radu – great to hear! Thanks as always for your feedback.
Hi Zerit0, You will need to use the ‘Maps To’ field to ensure the data is mapped accordingly to your MT4 symbol name. You can find an example of how to do this here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=435&p=1919
and you can also consult the user manual for further information.
Regards.
in reply to: Add Equity Index tick data to TickStoryLite #19562Hi all,
v1.5 now supports a range of global indicies and commodities.
Thanks for your feedback.
in reply to: Searching to Import INDICES and Commodities #19983Hi Snoopy – this has just been added in v1.5.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Problem with back-test #19996Hi ionico,
From what you’re saying you’ve already seen the basic video tutorial. You can find a more detailed manual by pressing F1 within Tickstory or simply go to this link:
http://www.tickstory.com/help/tickstorylite
Please let us know how you go!
Thanks.
in reply to: Add new symbols manually…. #19986Hi 4EverMaat,
Are you referring to adding new symbols to MT4 or Tickstory?
Regards.
in reply to: Commission Settings – Instaforex Eurica (cent) #19535Hi mmsk,
We have tried your code on the standard “MACD Sample” EA immediately after the OrderClose() command is sent and it does yield a commission. The only thing that we can think of is to double-check your export parameters by opening the FXT file in the FXT Editor and make sure they are what you expect.
Please let us know how you go.
Regards.
in reply to: Error on the dates of the exported files #20001Hi Rodrigo,
This is likely due to the MT4 FXT size limitation of 4GB. If your FXT file is larger than this you will likely run into some issues.
See this post for some further info on how to work around the limitation:
Regards.
in reply to: Backtests not working with MT4 build 625 #19970Hi gpipsforever,
Thanks for getting back. Yes, that is correct – if you wish to launch MT4 in portable mode via the Tickstory launcher you need to provide the appropriate command-line argument (i.e. /portable).
Regards.
in reply to: Not exporting to csv #19992Hi mickaswah,
If you wish to export to CSV, please right-click the symbol and use the “Export to file” option. The “Download” option merely downloads the data (bi5) files from the internet so you can produce CSV files from it at a later stage via the “Export to file” option.
If you are still having difficulties, it is highly recommended to consult the Help manual by pressing F1 within the application. This gives information on how to export a CSV file.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Problem with back-test #19998Hi Ionico,
We do not typically test specific EAs since there are so many potential variables when troubleshooting. One thing you should check is that all the “MT4 Info” you are exporting for the symbol is correct. That is, make sure you have correct lot sizes set, etc. If your EA is performing a check on one of these parameters then it could immediately be exiting.
The other thing to check whether the EA is logging an error. We did try to run your EA once which caused a zero-divide error. Trying to trouble-shoot this without the code is not straight forward, howeverif you are saying that you have produced a successful export from Birt’s script, then the first step would be to cross check the parameters you have used with that of your Tickstory export.
Hope this helps.
Hi FXNegus,
Sorry it’s not working for you. The issue you have described appears to be due to your exported files not correctly being marked as ‘read-only’. Tickstory does not delete the files it generates unless you choose to regenerate them. This means that MT4 (or something else) is deleting them at some point. We’d really like to resolve the issue for you if we can – are you able to firstly confirm that the files that Tickstory is generating (i.e. the *.FXT files) are being marked as ‘read-only’? Also, do you know at what point the files are being deleted? Is it when you hit the ‘Start’ button on the strategy tester?
Thanks.
in reply to: no update of mt4 ;) #19957Thanks for the tip, gooly. Hopefully this will assist others.
