Ready for Testing

When a Metatrader terminal is started, it will appear in the Ready for Testing tab.  The Ready for Testing tab allows you to see the currently running Metatrader terminals that are available for advanced testing.  From this screen you will be able to:

See all running (and compatible) Metatrader 4 terminals that are currently available for advanced testing.

Adjust advanced settings prior to your back-test including Leverage, Commissions and Margin information.

Enable advanced slippage and variable spread simulations.

Save or Load your advanced settings as a Testing Profile for on-going use.

Note: It is recommended that you use a disconnected/logged out MT4 terminal for your back-tests. This prevents the possibility of your broker overwriting your existing exported data.  You can log out of your Metatrader terminal by going to File > Login to Account in Metatrader and entering an incorrect password. The lower-right status bar will then show a Disconnected server status.

Overview

The main user interface of the Ready For Testing tab is shown below.

On a high-level, we have:

1.Ready for Testing tab - Select this tab to view the main testing console.

2.Currently active terminals - This view shows the current list of running Metatrader 4 instances. The selected item in the list is the 'active terminal' for which you can adjust the advanced test settings. You can show the selected terminal so it comes to the forefront of any other windows. You can also enable or disable it for testing.

3.Advanced Test Settings - This section allows you to set the advanced test configuration (such as leverage, commissions, etc) for the currently selected terminal. You can save the current settings as a Test Profile for later use.
