in reply to: Are Dukascopy data consistent across TF? #20278
Hi Puglios,
Thanks for your update. We’ve some some searching on the MT4 forums, however it’s not always clear when exactly these errors are generated. Since we are testing the limitations of MT4 by using tick data, it’s not always easy to get an answer so we instead try to establish whether our system has produced any incorrect data.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Modeling N/A #20281Hi Scott,
We’re looking into this and will need to get back to you.
Thanks.
in reply to: Tick data inspection #20299Hi Jorabi,
There is a ‘timeframe’ combo box at the top of the data viewer next to the date range specification. Ensure the time-frame is set to ‘Tick’ to show tick data.
Regards.
in reply to: Error Bid or Profit @@? #20288Hi Jiangchris,
The screenshot you have shown is rather odd and we have not been able to reproduce the issue. It appears as though your data has been corrupted somehow. Can you please try deleting the directory “EURGBP2014 1” in your data store folder location and try viewing the data again? If this does resolve your issue, it is advisable to delete all data in your datastore folder and download it again just to be on the safe side.
Please let us know how you go.
Thanks.
in reply to: Export data file in JForex tick data format #20298Hi Tigerr,
I’m not sure what “.bin” format FSB accepts. Dukascopy used to use this format but have since changed to a slightly different .bi5 format. If you would like these raw Dukascopy data files, they reside in the “data store” folder that you have nominated in your settings. If you are trying to export in a specific CSV format, you can design whatever output format you would like in both tick & bar formats. Have a look at the manual for further details.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Are Dukascopy data consistent across TF? #20276Hi Puglios,
Thanks for you update. Just to clarify, Tickstory utilises the Dukascopy tick data to form its own bars/candles, so we certainly would expect that the tick data corresponds to the historical bars in all time-frames. If you have a specific instance where you can see a range of tick data that does not form the correct candles, then we would look into this further – just provide us with the symbol and specific candle that is not matching. Given that the errors for MT4 ‘mismatch errors’ are not very well documented, we would prefer to look through the raw data and see if the various corresponding bars in all time-frames match up.
Kind regards.
in reply to: No data for testing #20126Hi Vontogr,
Have you tried trouble-shooting as per the steps above? The “No data for testing” error means that MT4 cannot find the data files for testing. Most people who get this error either:
1) Exported to the incorrect data folder and/or server.
2) Exported the wrong symbol name from Tickstory. For example, they export “EURUSD” when their symbol name is actually “EURUSDm” (Use the ‘Maps to’ feature to address this and explained in the manual and other posts in the forum).Hope this helps.

It doesn’t appear that your images have been attached correctly.

in reply to: Are Dukascopy data consistent across TF? #20274Hi Puglios,
As you’re aware, Tickstory is designed primarily for use under the ‘Tick based’ modelling option. Given that MT4 attempts to produce its own data (FXT) for the other modelling methods, it is possible to get data mismatch issues. Volume data, for example, is currently generated from fractional bid/ask volumes which will not necessarily match on every time-frame due to rounding, etc.
FYI, the modelling quality of 99% is just an arbitrary number which is embedded within the data file.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Modeling N/A #20279Hi Scott,
We are aware that the modelling quality is sometimes being reported as ‘N/A’. As far as we are aware this should not affect your back-test results.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Default folder for .csv #20272Hi Temp,
Thanks for your feedback. That’s correct, by default the CSV file goes in the program’s run location. You can explicitly specify a specific folder however such as “C:Exports{Symbol}.csv”. This information will be then saved for the next time you export.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: MT4 Limit of 2GB and variable raw spreads #18856Hi Mmsk,
Unfortunately we don’t have any new updates regarding variable spread. The main sticking point is having to constantly update the launcher when new MT4 builds are created which is very time-consuming. We’re looking instead to improve the launcher so others can participate in updating it and adding new features.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Need help, pls. Format FXT #19704Hi Hdstrueter,
That’s interesting, we have tried reproducing the issue with Build 670 but it does select the expected output format (i.e. Build 545+). The system should automatically detect your MT4 version and select the appropriate format. If it’s not doing that then yes, you’ll need to manually select the format before exporting.
Regards.
in reply to: Crash Report #20270Hi Beepsi,
Thanks for reporting the issue. We have logged this issue.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Timeshift on Daily bars #20264Hi Felipe,
What you want is the “New York Trading Hours” timezone which should be at the top of the selection box. This should automatically account for the timezone DST shifts you mention.
Hope this helps.
