Hi Ratsh,
Unfortunately no news on this one yet. We will know more once we release our next major version of Tickstory. Thanks for staying tuned!
Regards.
Hi Sel,
If you are intending to back-test with tick data then you will need to successfully launch MT4 via Tickstory. In some cases MT4 takes some time to load which might generate this error. If so, try selecting the ‘launch’ option again once MT4 has fully started and see if this works (you will know when you get 99.9% back-test results).
If this is still giving you problems, the next best bet is to try Birt’s TDS: http://cd710nh5qn5ax84ol4ncpnfp99.hop.clickbank.net/ (Note: Affiliate link).Hope this helps.
in reply to: [HELP] OutOfMemory when downloaded Tickdata #20690Hi Tradergendeng,
Ensure you are exporting data to the correct location. You can double-check my looking at the MT4 History Center and making sure that the date range you exported matches.
Before you begin to test your own EA, make sure you can run the standard “MACD Sample” EA. ‘Out of memory’ errors usually denote that something has gone wrong with the EA.Regards.
in reply to: BUG:SelectedIndex #20686Thanks for your report, hjs68ok. Could you kindly elaborate on the steps to reproduce this error?
in reply to: "Metatrader Info" settings in "Export to MT4" #20678Hi Jollydragon,
As mentioned, these parameters are not documented by MT4 as they are used internally. You could try asking this question on the MT4 forums to see if anyone can assist.
Regards.
in reply to: Historic Rate Data from Gain Capital #20510Many thanks for you contribution, Naddmr.
in reply to: "Metatrader Info" settings in "Export to MT4" #20676Hi Jollydragon,
The settings you mention are acquired from your broker by the TickstoryExpert and do not need to be manually set. They are only provided for the sake of transparency as MT4 uses these settings but have not explicitly documented them.
The “File format” setting defines whether you wish to use the MT4 export format that was used prior to Build 545 or the latest (updated) file format which is used subsequent to this build. The value is automatically set depending on the MT4 installation you have configured in your setting and should not be changed unless you have a specific reason for doing so.
Regards.
Hi Jollydragon,
If you’re referring to acquiring data from these platforms, we’re investigating other sources for quality data. Ideally we would like to create a data import routine for MT4 which should cover all supporting brokers such as ThinkForex.
Regards.
in reply to: Trading isn’t consistent with the signals #20680Hi Jollydragon,
Unfortunately we don’t provide support for trouble-shooting EAs so hopefully someone else from the Tickstory community may be able to assist. Just bear in mind that Tickstory is exporting data – the subsequent trading logic is entirely dependent on your EA code. If you believe there is a specific issue with the data that Tickstory is exporting we need more specific information for us to investigate further.
Thanks.
in reply to: S&P Max Lot Size #20669Hi David,
As far as I am aware, the Max Lot Size specifies the maximum lot size for a single order. I assume you are getting an error which is preventing further trades in which case check the error code to make sure you have sufficient funds.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Converting symbol name #20673in reply to: Export failed #20672Hi Casey,
The access denied error is usually caused by not having sufficient Windows permissions to write to the specified folder location. As such, you can firstly test to see whether you have access by manually creating a file (for eg. right click in the folder in Windows and select New->Text Document) and see if it works. Alternatively, you can try running Tickstory as Administrator to temporarily work around the problem.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Regarding ""TickstoryInfo EA" #20671Hi Craneliu,
Please check the Expert’s journal log to see whether the operation has completed successfully. If there were any errors (such as invalid file name) then your .mt4config file will not exist until you resolve the problem.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Regarding the tickdata (demo vs real time) #20670Hi Craneliu,
“Tickstory demo” is merely an arbitrary name which is usually the name of your broker. It has no bearing on what type of data is used. All the data that you export with Tickstory is real tick-data sourced from Dukascopy.
Regards.
in reply to: Issue with leverage #19315Please see http://tickstory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=641 for a possible solution to this.
