Hi Ninjaturtle,
Could you please elaborate on the “backtester doesn’t work”? Does it give an error? Does it erase your FXT files?
Thanks.
in reply to: Tickstory Data On Live Account? #19345Hi Trader2384,
Just remember that if you use your ‘live’ account it will override the data you currently have from the live market. If you do not have data for the past 5 years in your history, then yes, it should resolve the issue with getting the high point. Of course, this depends on whether there is 5-years of historical data for the symbol you are exporting.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Real and historical graphs are different.. spread? #19301Hi Fdanilo,
I assume those online graphs were from Fair Trading Technologies? Based on their website, their timezone is set to GMT + 1, and it also seems like they do not take into account daylight savings. Please try to export using one of the UTC + 1 timezones that does not adjust for daylight savings and let us know if this fixes the issue.
Regards
in reply to: Issue with more than 1 currency pair #19332Hi Adibi83,
Yes, we have tried exporting multiple symbols without any issue. Unless you have specific steps you are taking to produce this issue it is difficult to know why you are having this problem. As previously mentioned, the “n/a” is typically indicative of the MT4 terminal not being launched correctly.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Flat data in weekend #19322Hi mrbizu,
Any further feedback about this? Did it solve your issue?
Thanks.
in reply to: MT4 Location Change Bug #19329Hi Beepsi,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the settings for the launcher are set once at start up. We are working on addressing the ability on supporting multiple Metatrader 4 installations which should be available on the next major upgrade of the software.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: custom symbol settings #19337Hi bfis108137,
I assume you’ve set the tick value and lot step settings? What was the result?
Thanks.
in reply to: Don’t delete correct existing fxt when exporting #19338Hi Disbellj,
Thanks for your feedback. We are working on future version which will allow incremental updates to the FXT file.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Commision Settings ? #19336Hi Beepsi,
With regard to commissions, Tickstory allows you to specify the “raw” values that are embedded into the Metatrader FXT which are as follows:
Comm type: The base commission type – either Money (set to 0), pips (1) or percent (2).
Base comm: The commission value – this is the amount of Money (if Comm type is 0) or Pips (if Comm type is 1).
Comm lots: The commission charge type – can be Commission per Lot (0) or Commission per deal (1).So to specify a $15 lot, you would need to set the values:
Comm type = 0
Base comm = 10
Comm lots = 0Hope this helps.

in reply to: IC Markets Historical Tick Data #19307Hi Aman,
Do IC Markets make their data available outside of the MT4 platform?
Thanks.
in reply to: Hi All. Please help me #19333Hi longldc,
Please refer to this post to see if it helps with your issue:
Errors when starting up usually have something to do with a corrupted/incorrect .NET installation.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Issue with leverage #19311Hi Render86,
Could you provide the parameters/code that demonstrates which exported values do not match up with what you expect? The only control the export has is the specific values embedded in the FXT file as shown int he ‘MT4 Info’ tab – after that, you will need to consult the MQL manual for how to perform your lot calculation.
Thanks.
in reply to: Issue with more than 1 currency pair #19330Hi adibi83,
The “n/a” result means you are not correctly using the data you exported with Tickstory. Ensure you are launching your MT4 platform via Tickstory by pressing F8 and also double-check that your FXT files appear in the correct directory and the file date & time matches your export time.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: Real and historical graphs are different.. spread? #19299Hi Fdanilo,
Regarding the broker spreads, you will always get some sort of difference between different brokers. Remember also that Tickstory is exporting a fixed spread at the moment so just bear that in mind.
With regard to time-zones, do you know what time-zone your broker is working under? Do they shift time for daylight savings? You will need to pick a matching time-zone from the list – when doing so, it indicates whether the chosen time-zone will automatically adjust for daylight savings. Is it only during summer-time that the issue occurs?
If you are still having issues after trying this, please let us know a specific day where you are having issues so we can look at this further. In this case, you will need to give us the charts of what you see on your broker’s chart to see why they don’t match up.
Thanks.
