Can you please go to File->About in Metatrader 4 and let us know the Build number you are using?

    Thanks.

    Hi Hir0406,

If you are getting anything but 99.9% modelling quality it means that you are not using Tickstory data. Check that:

    – You are launching MT4 via Tickstory with the “Launch MT4” option. Not doing this will cause problems.
    – You are exporting to the correct MT4 ‘Server’ name. For example, if you have a “Demo” and “Real” account, make sure you are exporting to the same one you are using for back-testing, otherwise the data will not be visible to MT4.

    Hope this helps.

in reply to: GOLD spread #20575

    Hi Drofwarc,

Thanks for your feedback. The value you set in the ‘Spread’ box is dependent on whether your broker uses fractional digits. For Gold, this means that if you have 3 Digits then yes, you will need to specify ‘300’ to indicate a spread of 30. Note that Tickstory automatically displays the actual spread value in blue to the side of the ‘Spread’ box. The spread that is displayed here takes into account all of the above.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Autumnleaves,

MS SQL Server is not the product you are looking to install – it is Microsoft .NET v3.5. You can find the download from Microsoft here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=21

There should be no need to uninstall any software from your system. Just install the software from the link above and everything should work.

    Thanks.

Please do check again – ensure it is .NET v3.5 SP2. Here is a thread from another user who had some difficulty with the .NET installation and a re-install fixed it:

    Hi Autumnleaves,

THis issue typically occurs if you don’t have Microsoft NET v3.5 installed. You may need to explicitly install this version (i.e. .NET 4.x will not be sufficient).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Vabsie,

I wasn’t aware that MT4 was available natively on a Mac, either. The obvious solution would be to use a virtualised environment but I’m assuming that you’re concerned that this would impact optimisation performance.

The solution could be to export a CSV in the 4hr format with a custom format like:

    {Timestamp:yyyy.MM.dd,HH:mm},{Open:f5},{High:f5},{Low:f5},{Close:f5},{Volume:F0}

Alternatively, you could generate the HST files and then copy them over.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi RV13,

Could you please clarify what the issue is with a screenshot, please? Also:

    – What time-frame are you working on?
    – What charts are you looking at?
    – What dates are you exporting?
    – Are you filtering weekend information?

And any other information that may be useful for us to understand what issue you are coming across.

    Thanks.

Our Facebook page keeps all the time lines for our releases. You can either visit the page directly (http://www.facebook.com/tickstoryapp) or ‘Like’ us on Facebook to keep up-to-date with all the latest news. Note also that the Tickstory application will notify you if there is a later update compared to your current version on startup.

    Hi Trader2384,

If you check your Tickstory installation directory you will find a file called “Release notes.txt” which details all changes. You can also review the posts in the ‘General’ section of this forum for subjects starting with “Released” if you want to know any discussion around them.

    Regards.

    Hi Mainw,

The ‘filter weekends’ option filters out all data between Friday 22:00hrs to Sunday 21:00hrs UTC (in most cases, Dukascopy has no data between these periods however there may be occasions where there is).

    Kind regards.

    Hi C.yiannaki,

You can solve the “access to path” error by going to the menu option File->Settings and change your “Dukascopy store location” to a folder that is not protected by Windows such as your Documents folder (eg. C:UsersDocumentsTickdata).

As for the “timed out” error, please make sure you are not trying to download too much at a time and that your internet connection is working. You can ‘Test’ the Dukascopy connection in the settings screen mentioned above.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Vabsie,

According to this URL Pepperstone works off NY trading hours:

    https://pepperstone.com/forex-news/server-time-changing-to-gmt3

As such, you should select “New York Trading Hours” timezone in Tickstory to match this (first option in the combo box).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Daamiian,

This is most likely caused by an MT4 limitation. See here for more on this topic:
