    Hi Rever27,

The spread value is taken from your broker just prior to commencing the back-test. After that, the spread is fixed throughout the entire back-test period – it will always be 40 pips if it starts at 40 pips.

    Hope this answers the question.

    Hi Alchemist,

You’ll need to check out your “Stop Level” parameter in your MT4 export settings and match what your broker has. It should read “20” on a 5-digit broker if the stop-loss needs to be at least 2 pips away.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Traderkk,

Is this error stopping Tickstory from running?
Also, could you please give us the details of any web proxy you are using, if any?

    Thanks.

    Hi Rever27,

Simply set the “spread” field in the Strategy Tester to the desired value and it will use that spread amount throughout the entire back-test. Only when you set the spread value to “current” will it use the current broker’s spread.

    Hope this helps.

Hi – Are you connected to your broker? If so, it may be back-filling the charts automatically and overwriting your data.

    Hi Dante,

The best advice I can suggest is to nail down a set of working parameters via the “single” back-testing method and then see if those settings work in the optimisation.

    Regards.

    Hi all,

A new video is available that describes how to export Tickstory data and import into Amibroker:

    Enjoy!

    Hi Danchik,

This feature is not designed to run batch files or scripts. It is used to add additional parameters after the “terminal.exe” call.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jollydragon,

Please provide full details of your issue:

    1. What time-zone have you selected exactly? Different countries apply many different DST time-shifts. These are all visible in when you press the “i” button next to the time-zone selection. Have you taken the time to read existing threads like this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=417&p=1768.

    2. It is not clear what the issue is. Please provide more information such as screenshots and full details of details of what the problem is and how to reproduce it.

    Thanks.

    Hi Davidoh,

Are you referring to real-time data where you see updates tick-by-tick? Or are you referring to exporting historical data to your live account?
In the first case, real-time data is something we are working on. In the second, it is possible to export historical data to your live MT4 account, however there is a possibility that MT4 overwrites this data when it attempts to back-fill. The best bet is to give it a try and see if you get the results you want.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Danchik – thanks for clarifying. The “launch parameter” field actually allows you to specify additional parameters when starting terminal.exe. This is particularly useful if you want to run MT4 in portable mode. If you specify “/portable” in the launch parameters, Tickstory will issue the command:

    terminal.exe /portable

Specifying “start.bat” will not start your batch file but instead invoke:

    terminal.exe start.bat

which is obviously not what you want.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Pipperoni,

When you see 99.9% modelling quality in your back-test report you know you are using Tickstory data.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi ForexBunny,

We tried to do a search based on your forum registered information but couldn’t find anything. If you have an order reference that would be great, otherwise please let us know the name or email you purchased with and we will correct it for you.
You can send us a private message (PM) via this forum – just click on the ‘tickstory’ name.

    Thanks.

    Hi Danchik,

Not quite sure I understood what the problem is. Perhaps you can post a screenshot of you problem.

    Thanks.
