Hi Shani,
The earliest/latest dates you see in Tickstory denote the range of tick data that you have downloaded from the internet. This is different to the date range you exported to MT4. If you want to check the date range you have exported to MT4, use the Historical Data Center in MT4.
Regards.
Thank you for you reply.
A few more questions:
1. If I exported a certain time period to MT4 and then I need a different time period I just do an export again and the old MT4 files will be overwritten, right?
2. If the new export doesn’t contain the old dates than this data will no longer be available for MT4?
3. If I exported the data from the past 2 years until last month and I want to add the data from last month I need to do an export again for the entire date range, correct?
4. What is the “filter duplicate ticks” option for? why would I have duplicate ticks? Will the becktesting give me different results if this option was selected on export or not? Thanks again
Hi Shani:
1. If I exported a certain time period to MT4 and then I need a different time period I just do an export again and the old MT4 files will be overwritten, right?
That is correct.2. If the new export doesn’t contain the old dates than this data will no longer be available for MT4?
That is correct – if you export again then only the date range you select will be available. The previous data will be overwritten.3. If I exported the data from the past 2 years until last month and I want to add the data from last month I need to do an export again for the entire date range, correct?
That is correct for the moment. The next generation of Tickstory will be able to append to existing databases.4. What is the “filter duplicate ticks” option for? why would I have duplicate ticks? Will the becktesting give me different results if this option was selected on export or not?
