    Hello Sir,
Please, could you add a variable raw spread feature instead of the fixed spreads it is very important for expert advisors with max spreads feature which are trading in high spreads hours…

And please could you fix the MT4 2GB limit ?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

Interesting… I don’t seem to have a 2GB limit, but I do have a 4GB limit and therefore can only backtest about 3 years of tick data. It would be really nice if tick story could get around the 4GB limit like the tick data suite does.

The strange thing is sometimes the window title says Overwrite Protection, and sometimes it does not. It would seem that Tickstory is able to turn on the Overwrite Protection sometimes, but not other times? This is with mt4 build 610. Not sure why that would be? I always launch MT4 via Tickstory. I don’t even have an icon to launch my MT4 test platform, this way I never accidentally launch MT4 without doing it through tickstory.

I’m using Tickstory 1.3rc2 and MT4 build 610. I’m launching MT4 through Tickstory along with the /portable switch. Everything works great except the tester/history/*.fxt files keep getting over written and then I have to export the data from Tickstory again as the history tick data is gone. Is there any way to prevent the data from being over written or deleted?

Thanks. Once I re-exported the tick history in the new format, launched mt4 outside of tickstory and got the correct account within mt4, I can backtest again. It would be great to have the /portable option within Tickstory.

Thanks for all your efforts with this product and your quick reaction to Metaquotes’ curve balls. 🙂

So, how do we launch MT4 build 600 from Tickstory in portable mode? I don’t see a way to add the “/portable” in Tickstory. Bloody Metaquotes updated my MT4 testing platform to build 600 without my consent. Now, the tester/history folder is under roaming folder on my C: drive, but my C: drive being a solidstate drive does not have room for the humongous tick history files which is why I have them on a 4TB hard drive. But, the new build 600 doesn’t see them there, of course. Can someone suggest a way to sort this out?

Anyone have an answer for the above question?

I have Tickstory v1.3 and MT4 build 603. We are supposed to launch MT4 from within Tickstory, which is fine, but it doesn’t see my history data that way and there is not enough room on my C: drive to move it all there. So, I’m assuming /portable mode may get around this issue and allow me to keep all the history data in the previous location? The previous location was not under “program files”. The problem is, I don’t see any way to launch MT4 from within Tickstory in /portable mode.

Is there any way to get around the 4GB limit on history files? It’s a real pain because the most tick data I can get to fit in a 4GB file is 3 years. So, I have two MT4 platforms set up. One for Jan 2008-Dec 2010 and another for Jan 2011-Dec 2013. Now, that it’s 2014, I have to set up a third mt4 platform for Jan 2014 – Dec 2016. And I would like to backtest before 2008, so that means more platforms, more downloads, etc. And then I have to test every EA in every platform and stitch together the results. Don’t even get me started about optimization…

Isn’t there some way to be able to backtest at least 6 years worth of tick data at once in one platform? Preferably more than 6 as I would at least like to be able to test Jan 2008 – Feb 2014 in one run.
