    Hi beorseun,

At the moment Tickstory is designed for utilising high-quality tick data, however I can see how it might be useful to be able to download higher time-frames. Will add this to the list of possible enhancements.

    Kind regards.

    Hi zedede,

Unfortunately we don’t provide support with specific EAs. If you believe that there is an issue with the MT4 data export, appreciate if you can provide further detail.

    Thanks.

    Hi mrfrench,

Thanks for the detail regarding your issue. Could you please ensure .NET 3.5 is installed on your PC as this is a prerequisite (unfortunately v4.0 does not necessarily support all the features of v3.5).
You can download v3.5 here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=25150

Could also please advise if you use the Tickstory setup.exe or did you just copy the files to your PC? If the former, the installer should advise you if you dont have v3.5 installed.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the further information. This item has been added to the todo list (TICKLITE-88) – it wont make it for the v0.8 release but hopefully the next.

    Regards.

    Hi Jack,

Thanks very much for your post and feedback. If you want to adjust the time to NY time, does “Eastern time (US & Canada)” not do the job for you? It will automatically adjust for daylight savings time.

    Hi jupp76,

Thanks for your further detail. Appreciate if you can update to a MT4 build that is supported by the Tickstory launcher such as 432. This will limit the number of variables in trying to identify the issue. A test of a smaller period on GPBUSD has unfortunately been able to yield the same problem so will need to work with you further to see if we can resolve it.

At this stage it is unlikely that this issue is specific to v0.8 so I have responded to your other post that seems to relate more closely to your issue.

    Hi jupp76,

Appreciate if you could use a supported version such as MT4 Build 432 so we can limit the number of variables trying to reproduce and identify the issue. Ideally if you could try identify a small subset of exported data (such as 1 month) that causes your issue then this would help expedite the process.

    Thanks!

P.S. Your first post was successful however it needs to be approved first unfortunately due to spam posts.

    Hi jackt,

That’s correct – the system will download pairs simultaneously, however it will only make one request at a time per-pair. If you are concerned about requesting too much data I would suggest manually downloading one pair at a time. The main intention of the multiple-pair feature is so you can easily generate MT4 or CSV exports for all your desired pairs in one go.

Also, remember that the data is cached on your local disk so once it is downloaded it will no longer request the data from the remote servers.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi allyfx,

Welcome to the forum. v0.8 is expected to be released in the few days – just ensuring we have no unresolved issues from users.

    Regards.

    Hi fx83,

Could you please advise what version of MT4 you are currently using? The Tickstory launcher will attempt to launch all new versions of MT4 if possible and will notify you if it’s unsuccessful.

If you would like to use Build 432, you can find it here:

    Hi virtual001,

Couple of questions for you to see if it’s possible to reproduce the issue:

    – What version of MT4 are you using?
    – Are you using the Tickstory launcher to start MT4?
    – If so, what is the size of your FXT file? I assume you’re aware of the 2Gb limitation?
    – Does v0.7 work correctly for you when you try the same export?
    – Could you provide the exact dates you are exporting for and any additional settings (such as whether you are filtering for duplicate ticks).
    – Does your backtest stop with an error and on which date does it stop?

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi DaveM,

It is not a requirement to reboot your computer, however I’m glad you sorted your issue.

    Regards.
