in reply to: Walk Forward Analyzer #18627
Hi DaveM,
I am not sure specifically what feature/addition you are after. Could you please elaborate further?
Thanks.
in reply to: v0.7 Released! #18498Hi Jjlazzard,
You can download a generic MT4 v432 build from here:
http://www.multiupload.nl/2AB9S9505T
I would also recommend you have a look at the back-testing quick-start guide here:

Hope this helps.
in reply to: MT4 only launches once, then "no data for testing" #18618Hi Drew,
Unfortunately we have been unable to replicate the problem. Are you consistently experiencing this problem after exactly the second launch or can it occur after several launches? It may be necessary to do further troubleshooting with you to pinpoint the issue. As an interim workaround, I would recommend you mark your FXT files as read-only to prevent them from getting overwritten.
Thanks.
in reply to: Period data export using ASK instead of BID #18616Hi stoneknuckle,
This Is a good suggestion and will be added to the list of enhancements.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Translations? #18603Thanks, Radu. The language “format” being used is not po but specific to .NET.
In most cases the translations can be passed through Google translate, however there will undoubtedly be some nuances that are best handled by the locals 😉Regards.
in reply to: Wrong bar open times #18595Hi Radu,
Understand the potential confusion. At the moment the system doesnt have specific messages for internet downloads vs downloading from file hence the “retrieval” message. Will note this for future versions.
Regards.
in reply to: MT5 Metaquotes data: a huge ressource #18617Hi FXDub,
Thanks for your post and suggestion. Havent yet tried the MT5 data source and would be interested in people’s thoughts about its quality and source. From what I understand the data isnt strictly “tick” data but can provide millisecond granularity – is this correct?
Planned features in Tickstory include a CSV import option, so this would provide the ability to then export to MT4.
Regards.
in reply to: Translations? #18601Great news – thanks for the offer, Skipper!
in reply to: Couple of suggestions #18580Hi Tom,
It appears you might be referring to the “Download” date selection screen in which case this item will be addressed. The other export dialogs should be correctly utilising your Windows settings.
As for the wording of GMT, from what you’re saying it appears that there are some other variables within Windows that determine how this is named. Either way, there is unfortunately no scope to change this within Tickstory.
Regards.
in reply to: Translations? #18599Hi Radu,
Many thanks for your offer to contribute. Yes – enabling multi-language is definitely in the pipeline in the next major update of Tickstory. Will make sure any Hungarian translations get vetted by you!
Kind regards.
in reply to: Couple of suggestions #18578Hi Tom,
Thanks for the additional feedback. These items will be looked into. To respond to somenof your points:
– The date format displayed in the date selection is based on your Windows regional settings (i.e the “short date” format). If you want to make any changes here all you should need to do is change these settings.
– The time-zone selected is GMT-0 (as you noted). The naming for each of the time-zones is sourced from the Windows O/S. XP has a bit of an antiquated naming scheme as you mention. Windows 7 users are presented with a more current naming convention which refers to it more correctly as “UTC”.
Hope this helps!
in reply to: Wrong bar open times #18593Hi Radu,
Thanks for your feedback. Will take a look into the items you mentioned and address them before the v0.8 release.
Regarding the data download, the system will always check for the presence of the data on your local disk prior to attempting to retrieve data from the web. Therefore, the data will only be downloaded once. Much of the time overhead in producing extracts is the writing of the FXT files which are usually over a gigabyte in length for each timeframe. You can speed up the process by only exporting the timeframes you intend to back-test with.
Having said this, there are speed improvements in the pipeline which involves storing the data in our own tick database format.Hope this helps!
in reply to: Wrong bar open times #18591Hi Radu,
Thanks very much for the detailed information. The following two issues have been raised and resolved off-the-back of the details you provided:
•[TICKLITE-84] MT4 Export: Weekly/monthly bars were getting filtered when they occurred on the weekend.
•[TICKLITE-85] MT4 Export: Bar start times should start on the hour for time-frames > 1 minute. The fixes need further testing, however since some of the issues may be disrupting some users ability to back-test (i.e. those back-testing on a weekly/monthly time-frame), a release candidate is being put up. Please find the following post on this topic:
Appreciate if you could give feedback if the behaviour is as you expect.
Kind regards.
in reply to: Error message while configuring for MT4 #18598Hi Fam Wue,
Unfortunately your screenshots did not come through. If you start a thread in the “Issues & bugs” section, you should be able to attach your screenshots. In addition, if you could tell us the error message you’re getting, this would be helpful.
Thanks!
in reply to: Wrong bar open times #18589Hi radu,
Could you please outline the exact steps you are doing to get this result? This includes the symbol you are exporting, the date range and how you are viewing the exported data (CSV or MT4?).
Thanks.
