in reply to: No net profit after optimization #20969
Hi Dante,
Results are discarded when the EA settings are not profitable. You can show them by right-clicking on the optimization window and deselect “Skip useless options”.
Of course, more comprehensive information on this and other optimization features is available on the MQL forums.REgards.
in reply to: Tickstory 1.6.2, Metatrader4 b840, Windows 10 #20961Hi ZoninV,
That’s very odd. It appears that your data contains incorrect information. Could you please try the following:
1) In Ticktory File->Settings->Dukascopy Data Store, remember the current setting and save it in notepad or another text editor. You can revert back to this setting once you have completed the remaining steps.
2) Select a new folder location for the Data Store information and press OK.
3) Display the chart again for June 2015 to August 2015.Does this fix the problem? If so, it appears your data was somehow corrupted and it is recommended you delete the EURUSD directory in your original Data Store location and download it again.
Please let us know how you go.
Regards.
in reply to: Tickstory 1.6.2, Metatrader4 b840, Windows 10 #20959Hi ZoninV,
There seems to be some odd values showing up in the chart including prices at ~1.5 which is not correct. We have performed an export for EURUSD between June 1st 2015 to 1st August 2015 and do not see any such values in our data.
Can you provide the exact steps you performed to get this result? Can you also please cross-check that you are exporting to the correct data folder location? That is, in Tickstory, check that File->Settings->MT Settings->MT4 Data Folder matches the same shown in MT4 when you select File->Open Data Folder.Thanks.

A suitable launcher could not be found…
I’m using Build 840. I don’t think 1.5.3.0 will work.
840 is not listed as being supported.Could you assure me that this will not happen if I pay and get 1.6?
I really don’t have time to be dealing with installation issues.Thanks.
Hi ArtisticMagic,
Tickstory has been tested with Build 840 and you should not have any issues. We’ll PM you directly to resolve any of your concerns.
Regards.

in reply to: .NET Version #20967Hi FMIC,
I’m going to avoid part of your question – the big debate on which language to use will never cease 😉 Operating system support is definitely a consideration, however. Microsoft has recently announced their “push” to get .NET working on other O/S’s such as Mac and Linux (see http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-pushes-more-open-source-with-net-engine-coreclr/), so we’re hopeful of allowing those users to come onboard without any need for VMs or emulators!
Regards.
(P.S. As you probably noticed, a new thread has been created for this discussion to keep the original thread on-topic).in reply to: tickstory doesnt work cannot download data #20964Hi Elargo,
Which data are you referring to that got deleted?
Thanks.
in reply to: v1.6 Released! #20787Hi ArtisticMagic,
Have you tried the freely available v1.5.3 which is downloadable from our home page? This should confirm that the software is working correctly on your system. There should be no issues with the Windows 7 configuration you mention.
Of course, if there is any issue with running v1.6 on your system we would be happy to offer you a refund if we can’t help you resolve it.Please let us know.
Thanks.
in reply to: USDJPY historical problem #20958Hi Traderteam,
I suggest you check out the chart for the period you’re suspecting of missing data. We have checked late 2008 to early 2009 for USDJPY and the data exists.
Secondly, once you have exported, you should check that the MT4 history center contains data for the period you appear to be missing. You should also be aware that there could be issues with testing greater than 4GB FXT files (although at least one other user has reported that they apparently successfully testing beyond this limit). If the data exists in the MT4 History Center, your best bet is to export the period that is causing the problem and see if everything works as you expect.
Regards.
in reply to: tickstory doesnt work cannot download data #20962Hi Elargo,
From our FAQ (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=613):
Q. I am getting the error “Access to the path denied” when exporting.
A. This is caused by Windows denying Tickstory access to the folder where it needs to store its downloaded tick data. To resolve this, go to File->Settings and specify a “Dukascopy Store Folder” that has general write permissions. For example, create a folder called “Tickdata” in your Documents and then specify C:UserDocumentsTickdata as the storage folder location. This should resolve the issue you mention so hopefully you’re up-and-running shortly.
Regards.
in reply to: Where is the ask line? #20957Hi Mkowa,
It is a better bet to try out the MT4 forums as we have no control over how/when the Ask line plots in MT4. The only other suggestion is to make sure that you have a spread greater than 0. You should be able to set spread in the Strategy Tester “spread” field as of Build 840.
Thanks.
in reply to: How to fix this error? #20943Hi – Please take the time to search the forum before posting duplicate questions:

Thanks.
in reply to: .NET Version #20965Hi FMIC,
Thanks for the feedback. We’ll be targeting the later versions of .NET in the next major version of Tickstory. For now, we need to be cognisant of the current users potentially using Tickstory on older operating systems.
Regards.
in reply to: Where is the ask line? #20955Hi Mkowa,
Make sure your your ask line colour is visible and/or not masked by the background colour. If you need more assistance on using MT4, Google can provide more detailed information.
Hope this helps.
in reply to: New user help with MT4 Back-testing #20954Hi Senthil,
Please refer to this thread and see if it helps you:
If you are having any additional issues, you can also search the forum for the error message as perhaps there already is a solution available.
Hope this helps.
