Hi Matdust,
Translating the error message to English seems to indicate that you are getting an “access denied” error (something like “Error occurred during download: Access to the path
is denied “).
Windows 7 and above introduce a protection measure to prevent applications from writing data to the “Program Files” folder. As such, you will need to specify an alternate location for your tick data to be stored. To do this, go to File->Settings and select a folder for your “Dukascopy Store location” that isn’t in ‘”Program Files” (eg. C:Users[UserName]DocumentsTick data). You will obviously need to create the directory if it doesnt currently exist.Hope this helps.
Hello,
I downloaded to the new created folder. How MT4 find the path to the Data?
Run the Strategietester, but I get a Mt4 Launch Issue (see on attached file)Thank you for your help – matdust
Hi Matdust,
Firstly check that you have configured Tickstory correctly by going to File->Settings. In the ‘MT4 Settings’ section, select the “MT4 Installation Folder”. Then select the correct “MT4 Data folder” which should match the folder you see when you select File->Open Data Folder in MT4.
If you continue to get the launcher error, please advise which MT4 Build you are using (listed in File->About).
Thanks.
Hello,
now it works, how can i change the path “File->Open Data Folder in MT4”?
1000 thanks, i`m 99,9 % happy – matdust
Hi Matdust,
Great to hear it’s now working for you. The “Data Folder” in MT4 is automatically allocated to you on a per-installation basis unless you specify the “/portable” command-line argument, in which case it will use the MT4 installation folder. Using the ‘portable’ option is only recommended if you are running MT4 from a USB key or portable drive. If you do wish to do this, ensure you have configured the Tickstory launcher correctly by putting “/portable” (less the quotes) in the command-line argument specification (make sure you update your ‘Data Folder’ accordingly!)
Regards.
Hello,
Tickstory destroy my fantasie, look at attached file. Is this possible Test 90% great and Test 99,9% s…?
Regards – matdust
Hi Matdust,
It’s unfortunate but many scalpers can be highly sensitive to real tick data, so higher quality back-testing is always a great indication of how your EA may perform in real conditions. Of course, there are still other factors such as spread, differing broker data, latency and so forth that can also affect the live results. As such, you should work towards finding the reason why there is such a discrepancy between your results and see whether any available EA parameters may stablise your results in various market conditions.
Hope this helps.
