in reply to: Any news on ‘OPEN PRICES’ Mode #20532
Dear Tickstory,
That’s superb! I would highly recommend that an easier way should should be incorporated in your ‘next release’.
I am willing to bet, OPEN PRICES users will outnumber TICKS users by at least 10 to 1.Certainly anyone trading in H4 Time Frame & above does not need ticks. Also, at the speed of TICKS optimization,
it would take me some 28 years to fully optimize my EA (great news, for my grand kids!).in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19884Many thanks for your help Trax,
I’m not very technical, so I go to: Files / Tester / History and then I
change the file XAUUSD.fx240_0 to XAUUSD.fx_2Is that right, anything else?
Regards.
in reply to: D1/H4 mismatch #19859Hi Trader2384,
Yes, XAUUSD / H4 / EST +7 / Dukascopy data. I exported with the new 1.4 version, the bar chart looks nothing like the one from a week ago,
I also compared it to several ECN brokers. There is something very wrong, I think it has to do with the Timezone conversion process.
Of course my EA has gone from great profit to zero. Any ideas?in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19881Thanks Tickstory,
1 The problem is the exported ‘Custom Broker Settings’ from Tickstory do not effect the ‘Open Prices’ Mode,
only the ‘Every Tick’ Mode.2 If, as you suggest the MT4 is kept connected to receive FXT files, Tickstory’s HST files get written over.
3 Regarding editing MT4 FXT Files, I can’t find any info on the net about how this is done, indeed I might
not skilled enough to even do this!4 You suggest after editing to relaunch MT4 via Tickstory, that won’t help! because Tickstory does nothing
in ‘Open Price’ mode.
P.S. Sorting this problem out will give you many, many more future customers. Remember Tick is not
important for people trading in H4 Daily TFs. For us downloading Dukasopy is important and Tickstory
is the only place that caters for this. I would suggest a solution to ‘Open Prices’ would be of great benefit
to your product! Thanks, again for your suggestions.
in reply to: D1/H4 mismatch #19855Hi,
Unfortunately, the problem isn’t fixed H4 is not producing the same data as before
and certainly doesn’t look anything like data from other ECN brokers. In GMT +7 it hasn’t changed DST.
Let’s hope we can get some consistency in the data!
Many Thanks
in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19879Thanks Tickstory, for your kind advice.
But the Terminal’s Default FXT Files don’t match my Broker’s in terms of Lot Steps,
Min Lots etc.Is there a solution to this final hurdle in using your brilliant software for regular
MTN ‘M1’ based testing for all higher TFs but with my particular Broker’s specs?
Looking forward to your reply.in reply to: Problems in ‘Open Prices’ Mode #19877Hi,
OK, so that is why in ‘Open Prices’ I am getting minimum 0.1 Lots, this must be the ‘Generic MT4’ min Lot,
that is generated for new FXT Files.Would anyone be kind enough, to show me an easy way to create an FXT file for H4 Time Frame that:
A) Has my Broker’s specific info like; Min Lots, Lot Steps etc.
B) Works off M1 data, rather than Ticks, similar to regular MT4 Strategy Tester.
Can the automatically generated MT4 FXT file be edited, indeed is it easy to access?
Maybe, leaving the Broker’s original FXT intact might do the trick, any ideas?I really appreciate your help, and I love Tickstory!
in reply to: H1 and H4 problem on chart #19866Hi,
I am having problems with XAUUSD in H4 too!
For some reason this problem has just surfaced, Tickstory was doing well until yesterday.
I am using the GMT +7 option, but the Sunday Candle is still appearing, when I have been
assured by Tickstory that even if ‘Weekend Data’ is chosen it gets combined with Monday’s Candle.See attachment and of course you’re right, it does play havoc with the EA!!!
P.S. I just tried it without the ‘Weekend Option’ and still the Sunday Candle shows up.
in reply to: Weekend Data #19873Thanks for your response, but I only really use Tickstory!
in reply to: Problem in settings #19456Hi Tickstory,
I am deploying your EA to get my Broker’s settings, in the terminal, it says; EA successfully loaded.
But it’s not producing a file report in Experts. Also, note that in Navigator the EA is gray colored. Many Thanks
in reply to: Problem in settings #19454Wow, how exciting it works, very nice!
1 It’s only backtesting in ‘Every Tick Mode’, it won’t work in ‘Open Prices Only’, please help?
2 I tried to deploy the MQ4 script, to get my Broker’s settings, does it work
on the weekends, when the Markets are closed?
3 Why doesn’t it save the ‘Map to’ input & also the Data Export Inputs, it seems
to save everything else?Thanks again
in reply to: Problem in settings #19452Hi Tickstory,
I have checked both platform’s History Centers, they don’t contain the downloaded data!
However, there is a folder called XAUUSD in the Tickstory Lite main Folder, which is what
I downloaded. Also, the downloaded data appears at Broker’s ‘tester/history‘ Folder location.Any ideas where I go from here?
Also, what is the exact start date of XAUUSD H4 data, please. As, I selected 5 years?
Thanks
in reply to: Problem in settings #19450Hi Tickstory,
Getting there, thanks to your help!
OK, I have managed to download the data, I followed your advice I moved it to C:
then chose it in settings, it downloaded fine. But, now when I launch MT4 from Tickstory, the new data doesn’t appear, instead
I get the normal 6 months of data from my dodgy Broker, and modelling quality is
34%.What now? Many thanks.
in reply to: Problem in settings #19448Hi Tickstory,
You were right, the connection has now been sorted!
But now I am getting; ‘Error occurred during download: Access to the path ‘C:/Program Files (X86)/Tickstory Lite/XAUUSD/2008/10/08’
Then finally; ‘Error, The operation has timed out’Really appreciate your help!
