in reply to: How can I speed up backtesting? #19253
OK Tickstory,
Thanks for prompt response. One fairly obvious thing I was overlooking is to have the speed “slider” all the way forward. That increases backtesting speed substantially.
Cheers,
in reply to: Problems launching MT4 #18826Harvdog42 here again,
I just got done exporting what I thought would be two years on data for M1. But the data still does not show up in my history center. Suggestions?
Thanks,
in reply to: Problems launching MT4 #18825OK Tickstory,
Thanks for the prompt response. I finally got the MT4 platform to launch through the Tickstory application. I’m not sure what I did differently but success is success. Now for another question. When selecting timeframe data to export, is it necessary or even desirable to select all timeframes? The first time I exported data to my MT4 platform I did select all timeframes going back two years. But the M1 data going back two years did not show up in my history data on my MT4 platform. I’m now just exporting M1 data to my platform in hopes of filling up the M1 history data on my platform. Then I could use the period converter script to generate history for other timeframes. I hope you can shed some light on this subject which would be greatly appreciated.
in reply to: Problems launching MT4 #18823Hello all,
I’m new to this so bear with me.
I have been having problems also launching MT4 through the Tickstory application. I get the error message: “A suitable launcher could not be found…” The broker I’m using is FXCM using version 509. I’ve read through this discussion and tried various things. When I tried an older version of terminal.exe as suggested in the discussion my platform would not run. On the platform in the lower right hand corner it said “Old Version.” Any suggestions on getting MT4 to launch with version 509?
