Yes, using RC2 the strategy report normally displays 99.90%. Thank you.

    Hi

In what way should we use that code?
Should it be inserted into the EA code?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Gabriele

    1. So I take it the FXT files still remain Read-only after you manually switched the properties. Then they are suitable for use.

    2. It is easier for you to use this particular mt4 terminal for backtesting only. Remember there’s no need to be a good broker cause you will feed perfect tick data anyway. So use a broker you won’t ever need to run forward. It is preferable that the broker’s time to be GMT time.

    3. The backtesting terminal will always be started ONLY through Tickstory launcher.

    4. You can copy 1-2 files to that HDD again. A movie or a song, it doesn’t matter. Make sure they are not read-only. Then check their copies on that HDD: it is possible for them to be read-only.

    Good luck, kind regards

    Hi Experienced_tester,

Just to let you know that we have done further tests on this to try export the data to a USB stick in a similar setup that you have described. Unfortunately we are still unable to reproduce the issue you are reporting – the files are correctly marked as ‘read-only’. Can you please try export to a “vanilla” MT4 installation on your local hard drive and see if you have any issues?
Also, looking at your screenshots it appears that you have your MT4 terminal running – are you sure the export was performed successfully and that MT4 didn’t have the files locked? You would have received an error during the export if so.

    Thanks.

    Thank you, Tickstory.

    1. I downloaded a few min ago a short interval of time to an mt4 located on the C partition, I think this is what you asked me to do. Surprise: the Properties of the FXT files are “Archive” instead of “Read-only”. (I exported 2 FXT files for 1 pair).

In several days I will install a fresh OS and see how it does. At the moment my system has 3 versions of NET Framework and maybe my SP3 version is a bit strange, I don’t know. So I’ll be back soon.

    2. I opened the Export menu of TS just to get the screenshots for you; I did not download any data at that moment. I had all the data I needed. The terminal was running cause I was backtesting that day.
Make no mistake, I am very keen in observing all the rules for bt and my user name says it all. Actually everything is running smoothly with your great software, I’m very pleased. If you only would break the 2GB limitation of mt4, I’d be in paradise.

    Thanks again. Regards,

    Hi Gabriele

    1. Even if you studied and applied the rules let me remind once more one of them, just in case:
    – you choose an mt4 terminal for backtest and then you NEVER start that terminal by itself, without Tickstory. The terminal for backtest purposes will only be started through Tickstory. It is better for you to delete the terminal shortcut from the desktop.

    2. No offense, you did not answer my question:
    – immediately after downloading/exporting the data, the FXT files are read-only? In order to answer this question you could download/export a short interval, like a week of data. This will be fast enough.
I remind you the option “Make FXT read-only” in the export menu is checked by default. In fact you can leave untouched that group of 5 default settings.

    Try again, good luck.

    Kind regards

    Gabriele

First you have to check if the generated FXT files are read-only. This check should be done immediately after downloading/exporting the data towards the mt4.

If they are not read-only then we face the same issue, you can check up my thread here:
    viewtopic.php?f=2&t=246

although I am using a different operating system than yours: XP

    Hope this helps, good luck.

    Hey damn_testing

The FXT files located in tester/history must be Read-only.
Right-click on an FXT file and check its Attributes. If they are not Read-only, delete them and you will have to download them again. I also delete the HST files, although Tickstory says it will overwrite them.
And immediately after downloading, without starting the MT4, check again the FXT files’ Attributes. If they are not Read-only, you make them Read-only. Check the tickbox, then Apply and Ok.
Then you can backtest. Good luck.

My MT4 for backtesting purposes is not on C partition.
Maybe this could be an explanation.

    OS: Win XP Prof v2002, SP3 v3264.

    Thank you.

    Thank you.
As I said, the option ‘Make FXT read-only’ is checked (default) but the resulting FXT file is not read-only.

I tried several times, the FXT files are never read-only. I will turn them into read-only, just have to remember to do it each time after downloading.

After posting this topic here I downloaded again one pair.
I left the default settings: Make FXT read-only and so on.

Now I checked and the FXT file is NOT read-only.

    Thank you.

Same message for me, to my surprise.

I’ve been using Tickstory 0.9.1 for several weeks with Build 509. Today I installed the OS: Win XP SP3 and I got the same message as the members above.

I never saw this message before.

I did everything: NET Framework 3.5, upgraded NET Framework 2.0 SP1 to NET Framework 2.0 SP2 same as I did for the first run. Tried 0.9.1 and 0.9.2.

I give up. Any advice please?
