Oups…
Should I be disconected for backtesting?
I thought, the history-files are write-protected when launching MT via TS.

Ralfin reply to: Updating Tickdata #19256Hi Tickstory,
thanks for the answer.
Regarding the timezone there is a misunderstanding:
Ofcourse you should not keep a list of all brokers within TS.
You should only memorize the previous user-inputs.When exporting data to MT I have to give a path for the MT4-installation (=Broker).
Correct me if I am wrong, but then the timezone is related to that.
So my idea is, to add a field (lets say “Broker-timezone”) to the MT4-settings, and to
use this timezone as a default when exporting data. And regarding the dropdown-list …. let’s make it the other way round and let me ask,
what users with more than one broker have to do right now:
When exporting to the second broker, then select a new path for installation and server (and timezone)?
And when exporting to the first broker, reselect the previously already given path again?
Is it this way?KR

EURJPY, M5in reply to: Discrepancy Visual – Non-Visual Mode #19239Hi tickstory,
never used offline-charts before 🙂
Nevertheless … when doing so, the offline chart looks identical to the NON-visual chart.KR
Ralfin reply to: Discrepancy Visual – Non-Visual Mode #19237Hi Tickstory,
to be honest … I don’t know what you mean by “normal historical chart”.
And I did not see any version being displayd when opening a chart.TS is version 0.9.2.0
MT4 PRO is version 4.00 build 509
When launching MT4 with no open chart, then the main window of MT4 is titeled
Unbenannt.JPG[/attachment:2p8umn6m]When opening any chart it is named with the symbol and the timeframe (e.g. “EURUSD,M5”)
Same when opening a chart after backtesting in non-visual mode.
When backtesting in visual mode, the chart is named like “EURUSD, M5 (visual)”.Hope this answers your question?!

RalfHi tickstory,
correct – I assume Jan used a different time-zone, as his flat bars are starting at 9 pm.
I am sure it will be also starting at 10pm when using the correct time-zone.So the basic issue is the same, which are the flat bars and/or the difference between visual and non-visual backtest-mode.
As you can see on my pictures, there are not only additional flat bars inserted – there are also real markel-bars
replaced by flat bars. So the test-results are different.
As of now, I can only use the visual mode – which takes at least 5 times more time.
And optimization is not possible at all.
So this is quite a big issue for me.
Hope you can provide some solving soon. But to answer your question: I am using UTC+1.

Hi,
This morning I did again some backtests, and was even more confused … I had flat bars again.
But now I know the difference: visual mode
In case I check the visual mode I have no flat bars.
In unchecked mode (which is much faster) there are flat bars.
Attached is a screenshot with two windows (checked and unchecked).
WE-Flat.JPG[/attachment:39kf793d]
Just now I see, that the flat bars are not the complete weekend.
And there are more flat bars than real bars – so there is a gap in between. In visual mode it is perfect: bar on friday 10:55 pm and the very next bar is the one from sunday 11:00 pm
But in non-visual mode … 👿 👿 😈 ???
I have no idea what to do…And … I did not yet consider optimization 😮

Hi,
1) I saw the other topic – but I’m not sure if this is the same as my problem:
At the beginning you write: “A new feature needs to be added to eliminate weekend information”
But at the end you write ” You can enable the export of weekend information by checking the “include weekends” checkbox”2) I am not sure if you got my point …
Yes, there is no trading. And yes, there is no data. So … why do I have bars??If correct or not … what do I have to do, to have NO bars during weekend?

in reply to: Translation / Language #19035Hi,
I downloaded Tickstory yesterday, and I’m impressed – it’s a great tool.
But the translation could be better.
Thus I had the same idea as Gigabrainy. If you need someone for german translation … 🙂
