in reply to: Export to file – is not generating Tick data #18403
Glad to hear you solved the issue, Roberto!
As you mentioned, you should be able to do the whole FXT export from Tickstory alone and immediately start getting 99% back-tests in MT4.
Regards.
in reply to: MANUAL, PLEASE #18406Hi Rafachuskas – thanks for the suggestion. Hoping to get a manual out in the next few days that will hopefully run you through a few steps.

in reply to: Export to MT4 – Ask Price bug #18404Hi roberto,
I haven’t yet used Birt’s TDS but I’ll answer what I can. Firstly, I’m not sure where you see the Ask price increasing – is that in MT4 historical screen? If you could point me to it exactly I can firstly see if its a issue from the data that is being generated by Tickstory.
Thanks!
in reply to: Export to file – is not generating Tick data #18401Please make sure you select the “Generic tick format (comma-delimited)”. If you incorrectly select “Generic bar format” when using tick data you will get the result you described (since the system is generating ticks, not bars).
Please let me know how you go.
Regards.
in reply to: Welcome to Tickstory! #18391Hi there, tcferreira – Welcome to the forum!
The idea behind Tickstory is to provide traders with a platform to acquire their trading market data, store it and then produce exported data for various trading platforms. For the moment, the system supports the easy download of Dukascopy (http://www.dukascopy.com) data – who offer their high-quality Forex tick data for free.
With this data, Tickstory can produce exported files. At the moment, two types of exports are supported:
– File export (including comma-delimited and tab-delimited file formats)
– Metatrader 4 (MT4) formatFile exports can be imported into various trading platforms (such as Amibroker, NinjaTrader and so forth) for further use.
As for the MT4 export – this is a really big step forward in terms of back-testing MT4 Expert Advisors. In case you weren’t aware, MT4 does not support tick-accurate back-testing, however it is possible to generate historical data files that allow traders to produce 99% modelling quality in their back-tests. The process to do this to-date however, has been a lengthy multi-step process of downloading the data to generate the MT4 historical data files. With Tickstory, this has been cut-down to a few simple key-clicks.
Future enhancements of this software can include access to other historical data (for NYSE, NASDAQ, ASX, etc) and can be sourced from various free and paid vendors such as Google, Yahoo, Interactive Brokers, e-Signal and others. Not to forget – acquiring real-time data for intra-day traders! Suggestions are welcome to give an idea of what the most popular features are for traders.
Some more detailed documentation on the current features is being written and should be available shortly.
Hope this application is of use to you and looking forward to the feedback!
Regards.
in reply to: v0.2b Released (Critical update) #18398Hi Roberto – Thanks for your feedback. The “15h” you see is actually the specific hourly data that is currently being downloaded, not an estimate on the download time.
Thanks for your suggestion – it has been implemented in the latest version 0.3b. You can download it now!
Regards.
