Oops…the “Export to File” text above, should have read…”Export to MT4″ 🙁

    Hi trying2trade,

You raise a good question with regards to what “support” means, so please let me clarify. The launcher itself is considered to be a “non-core” feature of Tickstory – it is there to assist users to back-test with Metatrader 4, however it is not a “database” feature which is the prime goal of Tickstory. Due to the nature of how the launcher needs to work, future changes could render it unusable in which case we cannot guarantee any support or fixes since this is out of our control.

With regards to what MT4 versions the launcher currently “supports” in 0.7b, it has been tested on MT4 Build 432, 445 and 451 (and potentially may work on future releases).

In regards to your back-testing issue, could you please give the exact error that MT4 is reporting? Usually the problem you described will happen when your FXT files are greater than 2GB, so check this first.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

I only raised the issue of support as I am currently using version 445 of MT4, but I get the warning message when launching it, so I just wanted to clarify that the latest download version was in fact V0.7b, so no problem. I’ve currently got my system testing head on, which makes a change from my developers head 😀

With regards to the back-testing issue, I think you are right about it being a 2GB limit issue. I hadn’t come across this issue before, so I assumed that it was a new ‘feature’ 😆 , but I have just checked Birt’s EA Review site, and it turns out that running one of the patches fixes the issue, so again, not really a problem.

I did start writing my own software, but then I found your site so it saved me a job 😀

    Regards
