    Hi Ralf,

Could you please tell us which version appears when you open just a normal historical chart?

    Thanks.

    Hi Tickstory,

to be honest … I don’t know what you mean by “normal historical chart”.
And I did not see any version being displayd when opening a chart.

    TS is version 0.9.2.0
    MT4 PRO is version 4.00 build 509
When launching MT4 with no open chart, then the main window of MT4 is titeled

When opening any chart it is named with the symbol and the timeframe (e.g. “EURUSD,M5”)
Same when opening a chart after backtesting in non-visual mode.
When backtesting in visual mode, the chart is named like “EURUSD, M5 (visual)”.

    Hope this answers your question?!

    Hi Ralf,

Sorry, what I meant was if you go to File->Open offline-> Symbol (Timeframe) and view your chart, does it reflect the chart you see in visual or non-visual mode? Just trying to relate what you see in visual and non-visual mode back to what is in the MT4 historical database.

    Thanks.

    Hi tickstory,

    never used offline-charts before 🙂
Nevertheless … when doing so, the offline chart looks identical to the NON-visual chart.

Thanks, Ralf. Can you please tell us what date range, symbol and time-frame you’re looking at?

    Hi Ralf,

Please bear with us while we try to replicate the issue. We’ll update this thread when we know more.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ralf,

We have had no luck with replicating the discrepancy between Visual and Non-Visual mode with the same settings you are using.

Can you just confirm that you are not connected to a broker when you are running these backtests?

    Thanks.

    Oups…

Should I be disconected for backtesting?

I thought, the history-files are write-protected when launching MT via TS.

    Hi Ralf,

The FXT files may be write-protected, however the HST files are not which could mean that you are getting clashing information from your broker.
As per recommendations, please keep the terminal offline to avoid any of these types of issues.

    Thanks.
