When you have an active subscription, Tickstory downloads data from our own dedicated servers in monthly batches rather than hourly. This difference alone makes the operation several times faster. To add to the variance, Dukascopy servers are often subject to throttling/timeouts depending on the time of day which can make downloading extra lengthy at times.
To give you some figures for your own comparison, we just now downloaded 1 year of GBPCAD using Tickstory Standard/Professional in approximately 2 minutes.
