Hello,
I had Tickstory download all EUR/USD from 1/1/2008 until now.
It reached 100% and said "complete" but in the Earliest Date column it was still blank - that was the first sign of something wrong.
Today I tried to export that data to MT4 but it started downloading all the data again. I assume it thinks there is no data for that range - but it should be there because it took all day to download the data and came up as "complete" after doing so.
I am storing the data in C:\Users\ACER\AppData\Local\JForex\.cache because that is where the cached data is stored when I use Jforex (as advised in the tutorial).
Windows 7. Latest version of Tickstory.
What have I done wrong?
Data is not being stored??
Re: Data is not being stored??
Hi bennygill,
There is an issue when using the JForex directory location where Tickstory does not find the correct date to display (due to non-date directories existing in the path). This should not cause any operational issues however, and all your data should remain in-tact. To check this, simply browse the directory structure and see if the dates you downloaded exist. If there are *.bi5 files within each low-level directory, there is no issue and the system will not download them again.
Regards.

Re: Data is not being stored??
Hello tickstory,
Thanks for your help.
I have checked the directory and all the data is there with the associated *.bi5 files.
But Tickstory continually assumes I have not already downloaded the data and tried to re-download it again. It will try to redownload the data if I try to export to MT4 or to File.
If I let it run for a little while and let it redownload a few months of data, and then I stop and start it again, it starts from the very beginning each time. So I think its having problems recognise that it already holds data for those dates.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: Data is not being stored??
Hi Ben,
I'm not sure how you are concluding that the system is downloading the data again. As mentioned, the downloading message is the same which is perhaps why you are mistaking it for downloading again?
If the files are there and valid, the system simply will not download them again from the Dukascopy servers. If you want to prove this conclusively, you could try disconnecting yourself from the internet while performing an export. If it is trying to download from the web, you will then receive errors.
Hope this helps.
