Metatrader Info

Post by tcferreira »

Hello tickstory. I could not find the manual on the "Metatrader Info" under "Export to MT4."

I have doubts about it. What should I put in Company and Server? Data are from Dukascopy or broker I use?

A broker is a customer that I am with STP ECN spreads superbaixos from 0. Should I leave the field "Spread" with 0 or blank?

Until more!

Hi tcferreira,

Please read the topic "Customising MT4 export settings" for information on the Metatrader Info tab.
The content of the 'Company' and 'Server' fields are arbitrary and do not affect your back-test results.
The spread field should be set to an "average" amount or whatever is appropriate to get a good idea of how your EA will perform under various spreads/trading times.

Hope this helps.

Hi Darren,

If you wish to create an export with your own broker's settings then, yes, you will need to do this prior to the export. This allows you to load in these settings in the 'MT4 Export' screen so they are applied in the exported data.

The general procedure doing this is:

1) Follow the instructions for generating your .mt4info settings file for your broker. Once you have done this, you don't need to do this step again unless your broker has changed some fundamental settings (such as minimum lot size).
2) Select 'MT4 export' and load your new settings file. You can save these settings as default so you don't need to load them again before each export.
3) Start your export. When it is complete, the exported file will contain all your broker's information.

Hope this helps.
