HouseKeeping

Post by Darren »

My harddrive has limited space, because fxt files consume large size in C:\Program Files (x86)\MetaTrader 432\tester\history. If i delete/clear these files, would it affect the backtesting process?

Because i am planning to backtest many pairs instead of just few pairs, and i do not want to delete and re-download those files again if i want it in future.

Please help.

Hi Darren,

You can delete the FXT files, assuming that you don't intend to use the specific symbol & time-frame that the FXT file is for. If, for example, you are not back-testing in the 60-minute time-frame for EURUSD, you can delete EURUSD60_0.fxt.
Of course, if you wish to test with the 60-minute time-frame at a later date, you will need to regenerate this FXT file by exporting the 60-minute time-frame again.

Hope this helps.
