Hello Ayasas,

The error you are getting translates to "Access to path denied" which is discussed in our FAQ here:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=613

Essentially, you need to go to your File->Settings in Tickstory and specify a "Dukascopy Store Folder" which is accessible to Tickstory. At the moment you are trying to store the data in the "Program Files" folder which Windows does not allow. Instead, specify something like C:\Users\(YourName)\Documents\TickData which should resolve the issue (make sure the directory exists, of course!).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.
I downloaded 5 year history for EURUSD.
I EXPORT TO mt4 5 YEARS history of EURUSD.
1 WEEK LATER I export to MT4 last 1 month of EURUSD.
But when I tried to make backtest for last 5 years ,
it just backtested for one month data.
Does it delete the 5 years data history , when I export to mt4 last 1 month data?
How will I solve this problem?
Can you help please?

Hi Ayasas,

At the moment you need to specifiy the entire period you wish to export. So in your case, it is 5 years from today. We are working on a version where you can append to the existing data.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ayasas,

Could you please tell us the following so we can assist you:

- The version of Tickstory you are using (Help->About in Tickstory)
- The build number of MT4 you are using (Help->About in MT4).
- A screenshot of the error message you are getting.

Thanks!

Hi Ayasas,

Please download the latest v1.8.4 to resolve the launcher issue. We've resent your download link just in case you don't have it.

Thanks.

Hi,

Actually the "append" feature when you download an extra amount data (say a month) and that Tickstory refers above to be in the development pipeline is something I feel I´m always in need. This is important as some of the trades can extend from one time period to the other and therefore, if we are working with two different files for two different time periods the behavior of such trades is not tested properly. The only solution seems to be to download an entire file again, including the last time period you need (1 month, or whatever is the time that you miss since your last download). When you work with 10 currency pairs and 10 year tests, this is of course very time consuming (in my setup it takes more than one day to make all the downloads).

Is this improvement (ability to append to previously downloaded historical files) still in Tickstory's development pipeline ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi Lvelho,

It's definitely still in the pipeline but for the next major update. Before then, we have other important features we are focusing on for the current version and hence the push-back.

Hope this helps.
