Dukascopy data ended be 4 digits data???

Post by bismillahwd »

Hi, Tickstory,

Thanks for all the hard work in this tick data

I've been studying your tickdata creator and now its my 1st time for running my 1st 99% backtest.

I've download the data as the "tickstory help" webpage guide, and i've done the "export to MT4",

my mt4 was built 482 for this test
and using pepperstone broker for it, GMT +2

so it might be used like this for the setting :

GMT n DST Setting
pepperstone time hst set.png

And this for The Curency pair setup, 5 digit
pepperstone hst set.png

But what ended up, i got result with 4 digits data in my MT4
tick story 4 digit.png

Oh ya, and all the Modelling quality i got is N/A.

Im pretty sure its the data that i've download with tickstory and sent to my mt4, since the starting and ending date for all data is all the same. And im emptying my pepperstone history folder totally before doing the tickstory steps. Also always disconected from the server and launched the MT4 trough the F8 from tickstory tools.

Please guide, what could be wrong in my setup, am I missing something here? Please advice

Best regards

Hi Bismillahwd,

Thanks for the detailed info to help us troubleshoot your issue. With regards to the Number of Digits, it appears you have correctly created a 5-digit extract which is good. The reason why MT4 displays "4 digits" is because this information is obtained directly from the broker - not from your exported database. If you wish to double-check whether your back-test if using 5-digits, you can print out the variable "Digits" in your MQL code.
The other issue seems to be that your back-test is reporting "n/a" which is an indication that your exported database is not being used correctly. Please ensure that:

- You are launching MT4 via Tickstory (which you have confirmed)
- You are not connected to your broker
- You have exported the files as "read-only"

Hope this helps!

Dear Admin Ticstory,

I've checklisted the setup for Read Only
And always do the method disconected from the broker
read only.png
But still shown 4 digit, even i drag the symbol to the chart it is 4 digits.
Im sure im doing by F8 for launch MT4
And about the disconected, i didnt conect to my broker because my broker automated reject me and give "Old Version" in the bottom right my MT4 that shown in picture.

Or maybe i should disconected by using fake proxy in my MT4?
still 4 digit n disconected from broker.png

Hi bismillahwd,

The fact that you are getting an "n/a" in your back-test result is an indication that MT4 is not correctly using your exported data. Could you please download and use the following MT4 version to narrow down the possible issues:

Thanks.

Great news, Bismillahwd! I suspect that the terminal 482 that is not working is still connecting to your broker. If you are that keen, you can try disconnecting your internet to see if that fixes it.
Otherwise, good to hear that it's now working for you.

I've just backtested my EA using the build 432 suggested on this forum and see the opening prices being in the 5-digit format while the SL/TP values are in the 4-digit format. How do I get the SL/TP values to be in the 5-digit format too?

Hi Render,

You will need to ensure that your EA supports 5-digit brokers. If not, you will need to ask them to update the EA for you.

Hope this helps.

My EA was actually designed for 5-digit brokers yet the chart pricing and the SL/TP values of your build 432 are 4-digit - kindly refer to my screenshot above. Do you have MT4 build 432/445/451 with 5-digit pricing?
