Is it possible to launch two MT4 for backtesting ?

Is it possible to launch two MT4 for backtesting in the same time?

Hi Peter,

At the moment there is a requirement that you have 2 separate MT4 installations and that you change your settings to select and launch another terminal. The steps would be:

1) In File->Settings, select the first MT4 terminal installation.
2) Export data & launch terminal 1.
3) In File->Settings, select the second MT4 terminal installation.
4) Export data & launcher terminal 2.
5) Both terminals can now be used for back-testing.

Hi,

You need to select a *separate* MT4 Installation, otherwise it will just bring the first terminal to the foreground.
That is, you need to install terminal one in say "C:\program files (x86)\Metatrader 1" and terminal 2 in "C:\program files (x86)\Metatrader 2" and follow the instructions above.

Hey I export data to mt4-1 and launch it.start tester and test began. Now I close tickstory and restart it. Put is setting mt4-2 and then export data tonit and launch it. And start testing. Dose restart of tickstory effect the mt4-1 testing???

And if it dosent effect then can I do same with more multiple mt4 ??

Hi Hir0406,

Once the terminal has been started Tickstory does not do anything further with it. This means you can continue testing even if you restart Tickstory.
