TickstoryExpert not generating MT4 Config file

I have successfully loaded the TickstoryExpert onto a chart and get a smiley face. When I go to the experts folder an .mt4 file has not been created. See screenshot: http://prntscr.com/8973v7

Have your checked your Journal tab to see what errors/messages you are getting. This should help identify the issue.

Nothing in the Journal. I even closed the chart and applied the EA to a new chart. I get the smiley but nothing in the Journal.

Hi GSpencer,

If you don't see any messages, the EA is not running. This can occur if your chart is not receiving any any incoming ticks. The alternative is to try running it within the StrategyTester. You will need to do this without launching MT4 from Tickstory (just start it normally via the Start Menu). You will then need to check the Strategy Tester's Journal tab to see the messages.

I just closed the MT4 and reopened it. It is receiving data. Still nothing in the Journal. Still have a smiley.

Please note you are looking at the wrong folder for the generated config file. Go to File->Open Data Folder in MT and then browse to the <Data Folder>/MQL4/Files directory to find your mt4config file.
If you are working with the Strategy Tester, the config file will be found in <Data Folder>/tester/files.

Great. That worked. Thank you. Pepperstone commission is $7.53 per standard lot. Did I put it in the correct field? Also, what are the "Comm type" and "Comm lots" fields for? http://prntscr.com/89bu37
