i have windows7 64 bit, Brokers Activetrade and AAAFX
When i try to export to mt4, i cant select the folder i want becuase the programm gives the warning "the path might be wrong"
and so forth denies my folder destination (doesnt accept it). C:\Program Files(x86)\Metatrader AAAFX
But without Folder destination , no export....
I tried with another Broker (similar Path C:\Program Files(x86)\Metatrader Active Trades)
and this does work.
So it would really helpful when in the next version the forcing would be given up,
so even when the programm think the user chose a wrong path it accepts the path (there should be a input path field , instead of choosing be mouse only)
Another Problem is that because of the choosing method (Windows explorer mouse only), in Windows7 mt600 build the
User Data of mt4 is inside a hidden folder in C:\Users\-u-s-e-r-n-a-m-\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes,
so it is also impossible to choose with the actual mouse-folder-selection method. (Also with admin right same problem , system folders are hidden)
Damn i am so frustrated, even the export which seemed "worked" did nothing, my pc maked some calculations but no hst or fxt files where placed in the folder!
arg fk*
Why is it harder than linux hacking to import working data backtest in mt4?!?
any help would be nice. greetings

Re: Cant export to MT4 because of program denies my folder
Hi Agora,
I'm not sure why one folder would be visible in the Program Files folder and not the other unless it is hidden (Right-click in Windows Explorer and check to see if the 'Hidden' property is set). Note that you can manually override the HST and FXT export folder locations as a temporary workaround (although it's obviously preferable to use the selection box).
As for the data folder, unless you are manually specifying this during the export process (as described above), then you should not need to change anything here. Tickstory automatically detects the valid data folder and only if you choose to run in portable mode you should need to change this.
Finally, are you sure that the HST/FXT files do not exist? If Tickstory cannot write to the designated location it should be giving an error.
Hope this helps.

Hi Darrenlall,
Please go to the menu option File->Settings and change your "Dukascopy store location" to a folder that is not protected by Windows such as your Documents folder (eg. C:\Users\Darrenlall\Documents).
Regards.
