Hi
i use a offline demo account with ICM and Dukas Tickdata in portable mode
Start Time 01.01.2014 to 19.09.2014
when I start BT with launcher: in the Statement it shows wrong start date and count all bars in history
when I start BT without launcher: in the Statement it shows wrong start date and count fewer bars in history
But in both mode BT beginns at the correct date and the first trades are identic
And don't have Modell-Quality also

Hi
I use live demo account with ALPARI UK and Metaquotes Data in portable Mode
Start time 01.01.2014 to 19.09.2014
When I start BT with launcher it shows correct start Date and count fewer bars
But I have Quality result 90% and the results are a worstcase
Why I have so totally differnt results ?

Hi Raffinoso,
Firstly, it's very important that you use the launcher when attempting to back-test with Tickstory's tick data. Without it, Metatrader will not correctly use the exported tick data and instead try to produce its own data set which will markedly differ from Tickstory.
Ensure you are firstly getting 99,9% modelling quality in your results. If you are not, you are performing one of the export steps incorrectly.

Hope this helps.

Re: Have totally different results
sorry this signify that to make my backtest i have to launch MT always from Tickstorylite ?
Once Thickstory has generated the .FXT and .HST in the right directory i should be able to work only running MT4 without TickStory. Is it right ?

Hi Alexflibero,
Yes - you always need to launch MT4 via Tickstory. This is an important step as without it, MT4 will not correctly use the generated exported data. If you get 99.9% modelling quality then you can ensure that 1) you have launched MT4 correctly and 2) that your exported FXT & HST files are in the correct location.
Regards.
