Hi Deuteronomy818,

It sounds like this is a permission problem. Can you please try Right-clicking the setup.exe file and "Run as administrator" and see is that resolves it?

Thank you for the prompt reply. I appreciate it.

I am logged on as the built-in administrator, but I tried what you suggested also, and it brings up another error "A referral was returned from the server."

If you have any other suggestions, please advise.

Seems there are permissions on your operating system that are preventing the installation.

Thank you for the suggestion. I know it is a permission issue. There is a problem with Windows 8.1. I am planning on removing the update back to Windows 8, and then upgrading to Pro. A lot of software has issues with 8.1 still. Best regards.

It is possible to uninstall Windows 8.1, but I was having a problem doing so, so I just did a clean install of Windows 8, then upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and the installation had no problems. Everything worked perfectly. It may have worked with Windows 8 basic, but the Pro has additional permissions already included which bypass some of the Permission requirements with Windows 8 basic and 8.1.
