I'm using the free Lite version of Tickstory and downloading the entire tick history for XAUUSD is taking a very long time.
Version: Lite (free)
Data being downloaded:Year 2016 - 2026
Approx. time elapsed so far: 6 days (51%)
I understand Lite uses single-threaded downloads and is expected to be slower than the paid tiers, but wanted to confirm whether this download time is within normal range, or if something else (e.g. server fallback) is contributing. Please let me know if there's anything I should check on my end or upgrade to a Pro version?

Hi Cz Kee,
The Lite version utilises Dukascopy servers and unfortunately requests are being throttled for the moment, presumably because there is lots of activity on their servers. If you have a registered version of Tickstory with an active subscription, you will be using our own servers and not experiencing the same slowness.

I am planning to upgrade to the Lifetime Pro version and would like to download data on major cross forex pairs, commodities, and indices from 2016 to the present.
Can you provide the total storage requirement and estimated download time?

Hi Cz Kee,
The size and timing of downloads will depend on various factors such as the symbol itself (since each symbol has varying levels of activity throughout the years), your internet connection and so forth. As a rough indicator, it takes approximately 2-3 minutes to download a year of EURAUD which is around 110MB.
