Tick Data not downloading correctly
I'm trying to download tick data for Ninjatrader, but am having an issue. As the screenshot indicates, I'm attempting to download a period from 2025-06-2 to 2025-06-06, but the program seems to finish the download really quick and the .csv file for this period is only 39 Mb. The .csv file returned 5000 rows of data all of which are only from June 2, 2025. I've tried to download different instruments and different intervals, but similar sized truncated files are returned. I've tried the output formats of "NinjaTrader Tick Format" and "Generic tick format (comma delimited)", but the results are a similar file size. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Aba120,
Make sure you are not viewing the file in an application that is restricting the number of rows shown such as Notepad or Excel.

This is obviously not the case. Look at the file size, no way could a complete download for that date interval only be 39 MB for tick data.

Hi Aba120,
39MB for several days worth of tick data is well within expectations. In fact, we have tried this ourselves and this is the same size as we get. All the data for the days are viewable (1m+ rows). If you prefer not to try our recommendation to use an application that doesn't limit the displayed rows, then it will be difficult to resolve your issue.

This are the messages I get recently on Dukas Copy data downloads. Any ideas of how to rectify this?

Hi Ekke,
If you are using an old version of Tickstory (4+ years), then Dukascopy have made changes to their data servers which require you to upgrade. In addition, Dukascopy servers do register errors if you try to download too much data. If you have an active subscription to Tickstory, you can avoid this error as you will be using our own fast data servers.

I purchased a yearly license for the service on Tickstory and I'm having trouble. I've been trying to download gold data for the past year for 24 hours, and so far, I'm only at 34%. If I try to download it directly to MT4, it won't even let me. Please help, as my connection speed is good, my hardware is fast, and I have a professional license that's updated to the latest version.

We're currently looking into this - it looks like it might be related to Duksacopy servers being overloaded such that we cannot get the most recent data. If it is still lagging, could you please tell us if everything works if you get data up only until the end of November? Could you share any errors you are getting in your logs?

Hi Mjkruzewski,
Thanks for the error logs (we have removed some lines for the sake of readability).
Could you please do the following:
- Cancel ALL your current downloads. You will not lose any download progress doing this as all existing downloaded data is already cached to disk.
- Start only ONE download for XAUUSD for your required dates. You can use the "Download" function which will download/cache the data to disk.
If the download completes successfully, you should be able to export data for the same dates without any issue (and this process be relatively quick and progress consistently). The issue may have related to an attempt to download many symbols simultaneously and therefore coming across some throttling on our side. Note that once the data has been retrieved that you should no longer have any further issues for these dates.
