What is the name USOIL in Tickstory?

Post by peteripung »

Hello guys, and thank you admin.
I wanted to do a backtest on USOIL and needed data, then I bought tickstory license hoping for USOIL. But unfortunately didn't find it.
I tried searching on google and this forum about USOIL but couldn't find any answers. So which one is correct?

Hi Peteripung,

Thanks for joining us! We have two oil symbols under the "Commodities" category - BRENT.CMD (Brent Crude Oil) and LIGHT.CMD (WTI Light Crude Oil).

Hope this helps.

What is the difference between them? I am afraid it will not work well on USOIL data broker. So which one should I choose?

Hi Peteripung,

I believe you want LIGHT.CMD which is US-based oil (WTI - West Texas Intermediate). Brent Crude is sourced from the North Sea.

Remember when exporting, you should map the Tickstory symbol name to your broker's "USOIL" symbol name. More information available in the manual if you require and some also helpful information about USOIL in this forum.

Thanks.
