Dear Tickstory Support,
I am writing to report a critical issue with Tickstory Lite that prevents the application from launching. This issue is disrupting my workflow, and I request your assistance in resolving it.
Problem Summary:
- The application fails immediately on startup.
- Error shown: "Could not contact servers. Tickstory Lite requires an internet connection to proceed. Please check your connection and try again."
- After clicking "OK", the program shuts down with no further interface access.
Steps Taken:
1 Internet Connection Verified
- Connection is stable (tested via ping, curl, browser, MT5 platform).
- No firewall or antivirus is blocking outbound traffic.
2 Executed via CMD with Output Logging:
- Command: TickstoryLite.exe > ticklog.txt 2>&1
- No output is generated. Program crashes before any log is created.
3 Checked Event Viewer (Application Logs):
- Shows .NET Runtime Error - CLR20r3
- Application crashes with Exception Code 0xc0000005
4 .NET Framework Environment:
.NET Framework 4.8 is installed and verified.
- Tickstory has been run as administrator, with full system privileges.
- File path tested both in standard install location and flat directory (to avoid space/permission issues).
System Information:
OS: Windows Server 2019 (on VPS)
Internet: Stable, cable-connected
Tickstory Version: Lite (latest available version as of May 2025)
Request for Support:
1 Is this issue related to a server-side outage or verification failure?
2 Can the server-check at startup be bypassed or disabled temporarily?
3 Is there a known workaround or updated build that restores functionality?
Given that I am unsure if this issue is temporary or indicative of a wider service suspension. I would prefer to continue using Tickstory for my trading infrastructure, but require urgent clarification and support to proceed.
Sincerely,
J.M

Re: Tickstory Lite Unable to Launch (CLR20r3 .NET Crash, No Network Connection)
Hi JM,
A crash before the application can start almost always indicates that there's an issue with a corrupted/missing component. Could you please go to your web browser and check to see if you can access our website (https://tickstory.com)? Would you have a different machine that you can install this on?
We have had another report of this problem occurring on Windows Server which sounds related. Please refer to this thread where we are collating information and responding.
Thanks.
