    HI Trader 2384,

Yes, I believe there is a minimum of 100 bars that are required by the strategy tester.

    Regards.

Ok, I tried with months and years of data but same error. I noticed that mt4 had upgraded to the new version so could this be related (before the upgrade, I wasn’t haven’t this problem)?

Hi – If you are still getting a report that “21 records”only exist, then it is likely you have exported to the incorrect location OR if you are using the latest MT4 Build, then you will need to wait for an update to Tickstory. You can follow the updates to v1.3 here:

    viewtopic.php?f=2&t=376

We recommend you keep an older version of MT4 available (<= Build 509) and back-test with that until the official release of v1.3 is available. Regards.

thank you. How do I run an older build without it automatically upgrading to v. 600? When I launch the mt4 terminal from an older build it automatically updates even without logging into the broker’s server.

    Hi Trader2384,

The forum link above gives you the URL to Build 509.

    Thanks.

thanks, I understand how to install build 509 but whenever I do so it updates to build 604 automatically even if I don’t login to a broker.

    Hi Trader2345,

We have tried the following zipped directory structure and it seems to work fine for us even after a restart:

    http://www.tickstory.com/files/MetaTrader 509 Full.zip

If that still updates automatically, check our some discussions on the some of the other MT4 forums – the suggestion is to rename/protect the C:ProgramDataMetaQuotesWebInstall directory .

Also note that the latest RC2 to support Build 600+ is now available.

    Thanks.

Do I need to use a previous version of Tickstory alongside Metatrader 509 or will the current release work as long as I download the older data files? If previous version of Tickstory is required, where would this be available? Thank you 🙂

    Hi Trader2384,

The latest version of Tickstory should handle both MT4 file formats (it automatically detects which MT4 Build you have although you can also manually select it on the export screen).

    Regards.
