    Hi Trevone,

You are correct – there are some changes that have been made in the latest version to utilise the spread setting in the strategy tester. This feature may be argued by some to be quite useful since you no longer need to edit the spread values in the FXT. Can you explain further how this is affecting you so we can see if there’s a workaround?

    Thanks.

    tickstory Good Afternoon
Can you tell me, how often now FXT takes Brokers Spead? One time per optimization/test or each tick new spread?

I use TickStory with MT4 offline (without internet connection), so my broker spread can be very high, that’s a problem
If I set Spread = 0 at the Strategy Tester, mt4 still used Brokers. What can I do? At Strategy Tester Set spread which I used when received FXT files?

    Hi Rever27,

Simply set the “spread” field in the Strategy Tester to the desired value and it will use that spread amount throughout the entire back-test. Only when you set the spread value to “current” will it use the current broker’s spread.

    Hope this helps.

    No at all
Sorry for my English. I try again )

When spread value set to “current”, TickStory remembered current Broker spread one time (for example 40 pips) and use it entire back-test (for each trade used 40 pips)?
Or every trade(deal) TickStory takes spread information from Broker (If there 10 trade per back-test, we takes 10 times different spread: 40, 30, 35, 36….)?

    Hi Rever27,

The spread value is taken from your broker just prior to commencing the back-test. After that, the spread is fixed throughout the entire back-test period – it will always be 40 pips if it starts at 40 pips.

    Hope this answers the question.
