Hi, I was exporting a lot of data to MT4, my machine had been running overnight but I forgot to plug the power back in this morning and it shut off. Can I pick back up from where I left of or I have to start over?
Thanks very much indeed

Hi Tr3add,
Unfortunately you will have to start over. One consolation is that the process should be slightly faster since some of the data would have been downloaded from the web.
Regards.

I actually have one related question on how much data is stored locally on my machine, each time I start up my computer I've noticed that the amount of save data on the drive I am using for testing is changing. After my first tickstory export there was about 600Gb but that is down now to about 200Gb, what's happening there? I had assumed that once the data was downloaded and exported one time it wouldn't need to be done for each session, is that not the case, does each download and export overwrite the previous work?
Thanks very much indeed

Hi,
I couldn't really say why your free space is fluctuating without knowing which specific files are contributing to the usage. If you have exported a large data range and then subsequently exported a shorter date range, then this could be happening. Each time you export, the previous files are overwritten and new ones are created with the newly specified date range.
Hope this helps.

It's the data file in the MT4 install that I use for testing that is showing the variation, but if there is a re-write each export then that explains the difference simply, by the way I really appreciate the response, enjoy your Sunday!
