Tickstory

Dear Tickstory team,

I come from China and I love tickstory. I have used the lite version 1.5.2 for months.
I bought a copy of tickstory 1.6.2, and I have a "Data error" problem when I export GBPCAD M1 data to fxt file. The version 1.6.2 and 1.5.2 have the problem both.
The file that processed error is GBPCAD/2014/05/02/00h_ticks.bi5
Please check the error. GBPCAD is my lovely pair.

Thanks for your nice feedback. We have tried downloading the same date & time and have had no issues. Attached is the data file you mention - it's around 10kb in size. Could you please try replacing this data file with the one you have in the corresponding Data Store location (your Dukascopy Datastore location is specified in File->Settings in Tickstory). Hopefully this will resolve the immediate issue. If you continue to get other errors, the only thing that I can think of is that you may have an intermittent internet connection that is dropping out occasionally. Usually re-downloading the same date range resolves the issue.

I am sorry I didn't explain the "Data error" well. Here is how the error happend.

1. The tickstory processed the file error
2. The tickstory redownload the file from dukascopy again and successed
3. The tickstory processes the new downloaded file and "Data error" ocurred
4. the file attached is is my file, it is different with yours

It is possible that these errors sometimes occur when downloading, although not typically the same one. When you replace the file that was last attached in your Data Store location, do you still get an error? If not, then you are fine to continue.

I think the "Data error" is about the downloaded error file. It happened barely but happens many times now.
I don't konw why, maybe my internet connection.

It stops process when error ocurred, I have to restart it, and it stops again,,,,so on, I got to broken down

Can tickstory retry when the "Data error" ocuured ?

Hi - Tickstory does retry at least 3 times. If you see it continue on (i.e. the progress indicator keeps moving along) then it has successfully recovered from the error.

Hi - unfortunately this is not a good solution as it could cause infinite hangs/loops. If there is a problem with your connection, the best bet is to resolve this first. Bear in mind that once you have successfully downloaded the data, it will not need to be downloaded again.
