Hello Tickstory team,

I'm having an issue when exporting tick data to CSV format. The resulting file is around 40 GB in size, but when I open it (in Notepad or Notepad++), it only contains the template header line like this:

{Timestamp:yyyyMMdd},{Timestamp:HH:mm:ss},{BidPrice},{AskPrice},{BidPrice},{BidVolume}

There is no actual data below the header — just an empty file (besides the header), despite the large file size.

Some additional details:

- Symbol: EURUSD
- Date Range: 2004.01.01 to 2025.08.20
- Export Format: CSV
- Template: {Timestamp:yyyyMMdd},{Timestamp:HH:mm:ss},{BidPrice},{AskPrice},{BidPrice},{BidVolume}
- Timeframe: Tick data
- Pre defined MetaTrader 5 Tick Format
- File size: ~40 GB
- Tickstory Version: [Insert version number]

I tried changing the export folder, shortening the date range, and verifying the symbol name, but the result is the same — no data, only the template.

Could this be a bug, or is there anything else I should check? I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

when i try to add ticks to mt5 with this csv file i cant click ok button because it doesnt accept this csv file

something happened to dukascopy servers. I tried it on 2 computer to download datas but cant connect to server. When i click to test on settings page in the tickstory. i get this error. Cannot connect to remote server.

can you restart your servers please.

There seems to be 2 separate issues here so let's address them one at a time. Firstly, if you are getting a "Cannot connect to remote server", is is likely that your internet provider/service/anti-virus/firewall is blocking Tickstory from accessing the data servers in some way. If you haven't changed any configuration recently and the download was previously working, you might try rebooting your PC just to make sure it isn't something else causing this issue. We can confirm that as of right now, the servers are fully operational.

Regarding your file export, could you please perform a small extract of say 1 days worth of data and open it in Notepad. We have had many users often saying they cannot view the data correctly and this is usually because they are trying to open a very large file in an application (Excel, Notepad, etc) that cannot handle it.

Please let us know the results. If you are still having issues with the export, please include some screenshots of your file export settings and the resulting file you are looking at.

hello im trying to test connection on 2 pc but i get error both of them. cant connect remote server from them.

Second one i tried 1 day 1 month and more but when i download it i only see template so i cant import to mt5.

whats the problem? maybe servers has a problem so tickstory cant take data from database.

Can you please send a screenshot of the error(s) you are getting? Please also try clicking this link in your web browser and letting us know the result. You should get a prompt to download a file called "00h_ticks.bi5" (if your browser gives a warning, please click "ok" to proceed with the download).
If you are not getting any prompt to download, please note the error you are getting.

Could the problem be that Dukascopy servers cannot be accessed from Turkey? If that’s the case, could you please delete my activations so that I can rent a VPS abroad and download it that way? If the problem is something else, just letting me know would be enough, but I’ve already tried most things. The data gets downloaded, but it only comes as a template without any actual data inside.

Thanks for the screenshots. They definitely tell us that your internet service provider/government is blocking server access. You will need an alternate internet connection to continue. As you suggested, you can either get a VPS outside of Turkey or you can do what some of our users are doing and that is to use a VPN.

We have cleared your licenses so you can try either option.
