Struggling to get up and running

Hi all,

Wondering some kind soul would help me to get up and running! :D

A newbie to this backtesting but understand the need for solid, quality data.

I've followed instructions but I don't think my backtesting is using the TickStory data.

So far, downloaded TickStory, downloaded a clean version IC Markets MT4 platform (and placed it in it's own folder on my Desktop), I then referenced it in TickStory's Setting's panel (and all seems to be correct), downloaded a couple of instruments, once complete, open and closed MT4, and then opened MT4 from within theTickStory Lite pop up panel, ran a BackTest - but I don't think it is using the TickStory data

How can I check it is e.g. the modelling quality seems to be exactly the same as before?

I did think I could remove the .hst files in History but then all that appears on reopening MT4 are the tf confirmed for that symbol - no sign of TickStory.

On opening I notice a msg at the top of MT4, I'm sure something like TickStory launcher appears but it's then quickly replaced with the normal IC Market and account info details.

Ok hoping someone can help and/or point me in the right driection

Thanks in advance

Hi Trader93,

Welcome to you! The first starting point for newbies should be this video which describes the basic steps of getting started with TIckstory and MT4. You should be getting 99.9% modelling quality on your back-test - this denotes that you are successfully using TIckstory's tick data in your back-test. If you are not getting 99.9% modelling quality, be sure to check out our FAQ for the likely reasons.

If you are still having problems after this, please send some screenshots of the issue and we can help you trouble-shoot.

Thanks.
